Beautiful people; beautiful pictures! But where’s the woman – TARA – at the centre of it all????

Is it me or was Tara herself missing from this event??? *strange*….lovely sales/promotional event…this is about the first time a product-led event is actually properly showcased and displayed here.

Tara stays schooling you newbies! one’s company must be bigger than oneself! It is a testament to the company she has built – that an event like this can take place, and the founder not be present. i am sure she must have had somewhere more important to be, otherwise she would have been there front row and center. notwithstanding, an excellent event was put on and a great product was launched! Kudos Tara!
Nigerian business owners, food for thought today: can my business run in my absence? can a successful event be thrown without me having to micro-manage every last bit of it? if both answers are no, get back to the drawing board!

See story oh! All because someone asked where the brand founder is? and I beg to differ, “running” a successful business is different from “launching” a new product! For instance, I cant imagine Steve Jobs then or Tim Cook now being absent from the launch of a new apple product, sorry.

I love the new matte lip color, very much like mac and less dry. However the pictures here of the artistes doing faces is very unflattering. There isn’t one single picture of a make over that looks nice. They should have at least done a few gorgeous make overs and shown pics of those. If i hadn’t tried the product myself, i would not be inspired to buy Tara

Thank you. Was going to say that. That red lipstick doesn’t fit that lady’s skin tone.

I’m not sure if the photos are doing the makeup any justice. Some of the foundation comes off looking like they’ve got a seriously yellow undertone.

Otherwise, well done to Tara for stealing some of the Nigerian market share away from M.A.C

Thank you. They have a seriously yellow undertone, not something i would use but i love her lipglosses.

Wait wait wait!! Going by this pictures it is safe to say Tara might be the only brand popular enough and affordable in Naija that has my skin tone..

People of Bella Naija you won’t understand! Not like I am so “yellow” oo but I can’t seem to find my exact makeup colour/tone if I decide to do proper makeup. I just manage Mac now as its the only one manageable. Sleek is the worst as it is really reddish.. I always have a laugh any day I decide its my “oya lets go find makeup day”.. I have heard all sorts from make-up artists.. “Ermm your skin is.. is… yellow oo” the funniest I heard is “Errmm eeehh its like you are golden yellow”.

I will try visiting the tara store in Abj if they can test the foundatn for me. fingers and toes crossed!! 😀

Maybe you should try Blackup, although its a lot more expensive. Also try to see if your foundation can be customised for you. Goodluck.

      BlackUp should work for you.

I have same issues as you, i found comfort in black up foundation. And i use Iman bronzing powder to smoothen any increased ‘yellowness’ there may be

    • Mariaah

      September 4, 2013 at 10:23 am

Oh Black Up? Okay. Thank you. I will also try d foundation mix trick and hope it works. That means I have to buy two difft colours cos I don’t foresee anyone mixing 2 for me like that. Thanks you guys 🙂

Great to see a thriving nigerian-owned business!
    Wishing Tara all the best!
I do agree though that it would have been good to see striking pictures of make-overs.
The pictures above really do not do the products any justice as the models look ‘unfinished’

Sorry to put a damper on things. But most of those “new” products already exist in other brands and in the same packaging and with the same colours. So what exactly is new?

  16. anonymous

    September 3, 2013 at 9:37 pm

Its time for us as Nigerians to be original and stop reproducing what already exists under the guise of “launching” new products. Too much copy cat syndrome. Same package, same manufacturer, same everything. Only different brand name. Hmmmm

@ anonymous what exactly I’d your point? Mac, Estée Lauder,
iman, etc all have the same products…. All they do is brand it in
their names and hype it so what’s the big deal? Leave Tara to do
her thing jor. If e dey pain you, go and do your own original
    products and sell na

@ Mariaah, sometimes getting a matching foundation for some skin color can be very difficult..i feel u. But to help situations like this i actaully mix lil portions of two foundations together to achieve a particular skin color . So u can apply that too i bet u it works!

I don’t want to deviate but i think what ‘itsekiri’s finest’ said was the truth, Tara must not be there in order to have a successful lunch of her product. This shows that she believes in her employees in doing a good job in her absence, not like many Nigerian business owners who wont allow their employees to be creative and use their initiative…lovely pple,NICE Make up, GOOD product.
