Lies, Deception & Nude Pics – Uti Nwachuwku Impersonator Scams gullible Women

Impersonation is one of the unfortunate problems of fame.

Just yesterday, Nollywood actress Stella Damasus closed her Facebook page because “miscreants have been using my name for dubious reasons”.

On social media, a few of our superstars also state that people are impersonating them; informing the public of the fake Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Today, actor/model/TV host Uti Nwachukwu contacted the BellaNaija Team to share and alert everyone about a man who is impersonating him via BlackBerry Messenger.

We’ll call the man Fake Uti.

Fake Uti asks ladies to send nude photos of themselves and money.

He follows Uti on Twitter and Instagram to get photos and update his BB status. Fake Uti adds naive girls and promises them deals with brands including Peak and Samsung.

He later asks them to send N60,000 to his account and nude photos, so he can “be sure they are HOT enough for the job”.

Uti also says the man makes sure the ladies sleep with the HR/PR of the company (which is actually Fake Uti) for the job.

Unfortunately when they realize it is the fake Uti, and refuse to send him the requested amount, he blackmails them and threatens to post the photos online.

His Facebook account with Uti’s name has been closed a couple of times, but he keeps reopening it and searching for his next victim.

Uti states that the scammer’s new strategy is to impersonate Melvin Oduah of Big Brother Africa: The Chase on Facebook and recommend people to the Fake Uti.

Uti Nwachukwu is doing everything to put an end to this scam.

***Photos of the girls with their nude photos were sent to us, but out of respect for the privacy of all the ladies, BellaNaija has chosen not to publish.

It is surprising that these young women were so trusting and send these potentially damaging images to a total stranger.

We implore you to be careful, so you don’t become a victim of this fraud.***

This is such a nefarious act by a truly perverted soul.
But the big question here is “why do many young women keep falling for this sort of thing?”
    It’s really beyond me.
I think it’s out of a desperate need for fame and fortune no matter the cost.
    A truly sad situation.
    And a big lesson.

The person must be a psycho, can’t even read what on earth he’s writing. I hope this serves as a lesson to all gullible ladies., is it that they don’t learn? Haven’t they seen how people have been exposed through social media by sending nude pictures?

  10. Truth Teller

    March 21, 2014 at 1:51 pm

But seriously this new method of writing has to stop!

  11. Jet

    March 21, 2014 at 1:52 pm

My question is how did the ‘real Uti’ get hold of these nude pics to send to Bellanaija? Naturally he shouldn’t be in possession of such pictures if they were sent to ‘fake Uti’, perhaps I’m overthinking it *shrugs*

  12. Truth Teller

    March 21, 2014 at 1:54 pm

And why would anyone need to send nude pictures for an advert? Couldn’t they think there was something wrong? I’m just baffled!

    • Onye Ara

      March 21, 2014 at 4:42 pm

Such girls are used to sending nude pics to random guys in the past. For them,it is no big deal. Social Media has destroyed the moral fibre of most of such persons. The barriers have long been broken.

And BN we need the full details. How did the real Uti get all these details? Has the fake Uti been arrested now?

  24. poisefreak

    March 21, 2014 at 2:48 pm

First and foremost, why are these chat threads looking like conversations between retards? What’s with all the wrong spellings? How can someone send you messages typing like a retard and you oblige him even if he is Uti Nwachukwu X 10???? I don’t want to believe the celebrity in question is unlearned enough to be impersonated in this manner and chics would actually fall for it….. Sigh… Maybe its just me.

  25. Mz Socially Awkward...

    March 21, 2014 at 3:22 pm

Too many damn scams available to criminals these days… so, not a single one of the victims picked up on his obvious illiteracy as a red flag? And the idiot kept giving everyone his (or his accomplice’s) real name every time he sent those bank details.

  26. bride2mum

    March 21, 2014 at 3:37 pm

Sounds like the Royal Amebo scam of Twitter last year where a young man (Wale Aderigbigbe) used the handle @RoyalAmebo and posing as a lady, scammed and conned several ‘toasters’ of thousands of naira. He first struck a friendship with them, flirted and became friends then mentioned he/she had a health problem and had to go for an operation and would be needing funds. After several people donated, and later were wondering if the ‘operation’ was successful, someone using the handle came to announce that the person had died!! Then the account was deleted. It was when these Twitter friends wanted to pay condolence visits that the cat was let out of the bag. The name used to donate money to, ‘Ife Ojikutu’ was investigated and the Ojikutu family wihch is a big prominent one in Lagos said they did not have any relative by that name, No Ojikutu had died recently etc. That was when they all knew that had been ‘royally scammed’! They later discovered a guy by the name Wale Aderigbigbe was behind the 419 scam!! SMH

The issue of women sending nude pics of themselves to men on the Internet and on chat is not going away anytime soon. The other night I heard one Amaka of Cool Fm encouraging people on it and telling listeners how they can send the pics without their faces showing. So disappointing .

The scammer did a good job.The main culprit here is the chic/babe.This has nothing to do with being gulible.I thank my Mama for raising me well. I don’t expect any woman to send their hubby nude pix,how much more a stranger.common sense they say is not as common afterall.Naija girls need JESUS

    • sarag

      March 23, 2014 at 12:42 pm

not just naija girl! desperate gullible girls thirsty for fame and money! need JESUS! everyone should spread this story. people need to be cautious and smart! NEVER NEVER send nude pix! the banks and phone companies should track this fake uti. his time is coming! he will be caught!

  39. Tee

    March 23, 2014 at 10:22 am

Always remember that such pics is for ‘keeps’ for guys even when you delete yours on your phone. And you stand the risk of exposing your nakedness/foolishness to your hubby’s friend/colleague.And most of the time,it turns out to be a story of ‘my guy na mistake’ I didn’t know you have such saved on your album on your phone. To avoid all of these scandal, steer clear or better still be decent for once.
