Damilola is so pretty. congratulations to her. I hope people can learn something from her dressing. There’s nothing as discouraging as seeing a pregnant woman with lycra or jersey material hugging her so tightly. You can look chic and sexy without tight fitting clothes.

Is she married? Why are we comfortable with this trend?

    • Bundeschick

      April 22, 2014 at 11:32 am

So because she is unmarried while pregnant, people should not have anything positive say? Mind your business, you’re not perfect yourself. Thank God not everyone is as judegmental as you.

  24. Charmy

    April 22, 2014 at 9:55 am

What do u expect, is now a way of life. Girls now get pregant for their boy friends when he isnt married to them yet. We now celebrate immorality. Is a pity.

    • Fountain of Paper

      April 22, 2014 at 2:19 pm

If we’re going to be ABSOLUTELY honest, getting pregnant out of wedlock is not a ‘modern day immorality’. It has been in existence in times of our parents, grandparents and great grandparents.
The only difference now is that we have social media and enlightenment. Back in the day, if you got pregnant outside of marriage, your life might as well have ended because it would be hidden and you’d be trussed up and married off to the next available dude. However, that was not necessarily a ‘moral’ solution to what appeared to be a problem. Why should your life end because you get pregnant? We have evolved beyond that point. Now there is a chance to actually live your life if you’re willing to live with the decision to have unprotected sex. Let’s not kid ourselves and say this is about immorality because that would be the height of hypocrisy.

I think people should be more concerned about the disease options that unprotected humping brings. If two adults decide to have unprotected sex, and they get pregnant therefrom, and they can afford to take care of the child… please where lies the problem?

Don’t tell me that having sex out of marriage is more immoral than writing receipts for your office when you didn’t stay in a hotel when you went on training. Or that having sex outside of marriage is more immoral than going to sing at a rally in Kano when innocent lives were lost in Nyanya.

We need to refocus on the things which we get all up and self righteous about.

      Speck. Log.

And especially… there is NOTHING new under the sun. Ask your ancestors. If they had Facebook or Instagram, you’d probably know that it existed a LOT even back then. Let’s give ‘These children of nowadays’ a break. Inugo?

Thank you Aminat and Charmy! I thought I was the only one feeling uncomfortable with this trend of baby mamas and papas. Abeg, let’s call a spade a spade; it aint a long spoon! Marriage is honourable and the bed should be undefiled. Yes, she’s beautiful and talented but we should not celebrate immorality and premarital sex. Role models are supposed to be project minimum societal standards. Anyways, it’s just the signs of the times we’re in. It is well.

      April 22, 2014 at 2:51 pm

Calm down…we are not celebrating premarital sex. We are just saying she looks good pregnant. Her glow is infectious! Abeg to me they are married. I pray she has a safe delivery and that baby will be foiiinee.
There are 200 hundred innocent girls still missing…pls channel your angers toward that side

    April 22, 2014 at 2:42 pm

Abeg, leave aminat to speak her mind, when will we start seeing bad as bad, pregnancy before wedding is a bad example.yeah thank God he blessed her with the fruit of the womb and may she have a safe delivery, but then I just pray for her sake the guy ends up marrying her o

  27. Yes we can

    April 22, 2014 at 3:48 pm

Fellow 9jas and Africans, Damilola is no doubt a beautiful pregnant lady. No need to hate on her looks. Secondly, pregnancy is a blessing and a gift that should be treasured and appreciated. That makes us all happy for this lovely lady. That being said, pregnancy is honourable in marriage. A child should be conceived and birthed into a home where both parents are present. We should hold onto family values, as this is what frames strong communities and societies. This talented, stunning lady is in the limelight and is adorned by many, both young and old. What this means is that she is all the more influential (albeit inadvertently), especially to young people. Do not be surprised if young impressionable girls wanting to be trendy and to be like her start to emulate her. Her unplanned pregnancy can become a trend in the society we hold dear to us and believe me, it is a difficult trend to break. Just look at countries where unmarried or teenage pregnancies are the norm and you will wish that the whole thing never started.

      Totally Agree

      May 9, 2014 at 2:01 pm

Na you sabi. Who told you it was an unplanned pregnancy? What I will celebrate is that young women are no longer forced to marry because they are pregnant, and also that they don’t have to resort to abortion. Think about the number of babies that have been aborted because of the stigmatization that you are trying to promote.
And I know this is unconventional, some people find it uncomfortable and some people cannot plain believe it, but some couples actually CHOOSE not to be married, but still co-parent their kid(s) successfully.

Totally agree she looks stunning): but to be pregnant out of wedlock- NOT COOL.
Please we should not encourage flaunting such pregnancies as if it is the way to go….

Chris and Dami.. you should have done the proper thing..tie the knot in holy matrimony before having a baby.
