Miss Insurance 2014, Femi Branch & Others Award Students N250,000 Cash Prize & More at “Teens For Insurance” Grand Finale
The two-month long project of the office of Miss Insurance 2014 tagged “Teens For Insurance” finally reached its climax on Wednesday 3rd December 2014, as Secondary school students and Insurance stakeholders gathered at Mobolaji Johnson Sports Hall, Yaba for the grand finale.
The project aimed at sensitizing the younger generation on the needs and benefits of Insurance, kicked off on Friday 17th October 2014 with an online essay competition titled: “The Significant role of Insurance to the development of an Economy“, of which Deborah Faboyede was announced winner, with the cash prize of N250,000.

The grand finale, hosted by Nollywood actor, Femi Branch was fully packed with various activities such as an Inter-school quiz competition, talent acquisition, games, musical performances etc.
According to Funmilola Ogunshola, Miss Insurance 2014. “This has been a very awesome experience for me. The “Teens For Insurance” project was out of desire to reach this younger ones and I must say I feel very glad with the results recorded. The entries for the essay competition were mind-blowing, so much that it was really difficult for my team to decide an eventual winner. I really hope that parents embrace the benefits of insurance and secure these kids future as soon as they can“, she said.
Albesta Academy, Lekki came tops in the quiz competition with a cash prize and an LG refrigerator while Ansar-ud-deen College, Isolo and NewHall International School, Eti-Osa came 2nd with a cash prize and an LG plasma TV and 3rd with a cash prize and an LG Microwave Oven, respectively.
Guests present at the event include: Joseph Obah (Head, Corporate Affairs/Admin and HR) representing the Director/ C.E.O Chartered Institute of Insurance Nigeria (CIIN); Segun Bankole (Head, Corporate Communications and Brand Management, Sovereign Trust), Femi Inubile (Head Corporate Marketing, UNIC Insurance), Parents of Miss insurance, Mr and Mrs Ogunshola, Reps from CIIN, AIICO, Guinea Insurance, Sterling Assurance, parents and teachers.
Teens For Insurance project partners include: NAICOM, Chattered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN), Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA), Staco Insurance, Mansard Insurance, AIICO, Sterling Assurance, NEM, Guinea Insurance and Sovereign Trust.
