Dencia Explains the Differences between Skin Lightening, Skin Whitening & Skin Bleaching

Published

 on

DenciaWhen Cameroonian-Nigerian singer Dencia first brought out her ‘Whitenicious’ product there was a lot of controversy about it – and there still is.

But Dencia has not let the controversy deter her company’s mission.

She used her ‘Whitenicious’ Instagram page to explain the differences between some beauty terms:

When you think of skin bleaching, the first two pictures on the left come in mind. When you think of skin lightening, the four pictures should come in mind.Skin whitening, skin lightening, and skin bleaching refer to the practice of using chemical substances in an attempt to lighten skin tone or provide an even skin complexion by lessening the concentration of melanin. Several chemicals have been shown to be effective in skin whitening, while some have proven to be toxic or have questionable safety profiles, adding to the controversy surrounding their use and impacts on certain ethnic groups. And now read this “There is a growing market in skin lightening products that are toxin-free. However, they are more costly due to their expensive ingredients. Japan and the Pacific are big markets for high quality skin lightening products imported from Europe.A lot of you ask why our dark spot removers and other products are expensive, this is because we use safe ingredients that will not harm you.At Whitenicious your safety is our top priority.A lot of people with money can afford the safe methods of skin lightening.Like every industry and anything, the top $$ will get you the best of the best.always do your research #Whitenicious#SkinlighteningVsSkinBleaching #celebrities#SafeVsUnsafe #ciara#beyonce #nickiminaj #Dencia ..A lot of people deny bleaching because they don’t bleach, the lighten their skin.Your dermatologist will prescribe you 4% Hydroquinone in America and it is banned in Europe.#YouDecideWhatYouWantToLookLikeAsAnAdult#PeopleWilldowhatTheYWantToDo #DarkspotRemover #Envydia

You really believe Dencia’s skin looks good? What part of her skin has she shown on the red carpet? I will answer – her face. The face is the easiest part of the body to mask with make up. Now can you ask her why she never shows her legs and hands? I will answer – it’s in multiples of colours. I can hazard a guess and throw some other names that have better bleached skin and look good but I won’t. They are splashed all over this blog daily/weekly..

Have you seen her live?Because I have and it was horrendous despite the make-up. Her face looked like a pot-pourri. I don’t know if she had acne before or if she was just breaking out that day. it was not a good sight… And she had tons of make-up on.

Lady you do not need to keep defending your low self esteem issues. Just do you and accept that you prefer yourself as a lighter skin toned person. Don’t worry we understand that very few people are confident enough to be comfortable in their own skin(Pun Intended). Bye Denicia!

the last time I checked hydroquinone and mercury are not safe ingredients.

ever since lupita nyongo won the oscar last year, light skin stopped reigning.

the defination of beauty has been redefined and having light skin doesn’t mean you are beautiful, instead having brains and class is what beauty is nowadays.

    dencia sit.

people who bleach are just like transgenders, they hate themselves and their bodies and they want to be something they are not.

And Dencia sure looks like a transgender , but this chic always makes my day because of her clownish behaviour.

Dencia is so on point, people be playing double standards, is it because she isn’t some kind of high profile celebrity?, and she’s actually educating her potential customers on the pros and cons to a healthy lighter skin. For those of u who feel uncomfortable being chocolate or black, I present to u dencia’s whitenicious but remember u will have a case to answer wen d angels in heaven will not be able to recognize u

@Bruno the definition of beauty has just been recognized after nyongo’s award, last I checked Beyonce can do no wrong in a lot of people including u and she’s a perfect example of a whitenecious process( not saying she used whitenecious).

OK first of all, folks should do proper research before spitting lies..

The shade of hair you have on can either darken or brighten your complexion. The shade of hair used in the before pics of all the artists’ is quite dark including Dencia. Their after pics have them with blonde hair which obviously makes their skin lighter/brighter.. However I believe Dencia or whomever added extra lighting filter to these pictures for effect. Dencia whether she’s in white or black hair is WHITE not BRIGHT or LIGHT…

And if you’re current with these other artists’ as well, you would know that they’ve always been fair skinned and not dark and one would most definitely know that those after pictures are exaggerated. Especially Nicki’s own!!

So yea Dencia should stop lying to herself. Her product line is a whitener as she clearly advertises and not a brightener.. they are 2 different things and should in no way be classified as similar products..

My friend I just did my research and all these photos are taken from google so how did she edit them?please let’s argue with real points.lol when I wear blonde hair I don’t look lighter so it’s not everyone.

I tried posting the link google Nicki minaj skin lightening and the rest she just stole images from Google even the image of herself and these quotes are from Wikipedia just copy and paste but Atleast she is educating people

Hi Everyone my name is Diana, Like every girl, I also had problems with my skin. It was either zits, or pimples marks or freckles throughout summer, always some thing. I got frustrated every time I looked in the mirror and photoshopping my each and every photo wasn’t much fun possibly. I wasn’t accurately desperate, no, but this fact dropped my self confidence level significantly.

it amazes me how we Nigerians can b so hypocritical and decisively ignorant!…how can anyone say d photos of the celebrities were photo shopped???….these foreign celebrities are wen it comes to skin change and body alteration.they augument their boobs, fill their hips nd go through with really extreme plastic surgeries! u saw nickki’s throw back pictures nd it suprised u????or u dnt blieve it?..really?someone that is literarily plastic from head to toe.sorry to break your ice but beyonce whitened her skin too,yes!..she toned her skin.follow hollywood news, they talk about it alot.check Rihanna’s video of ‘pon de replay’ and her current video d diff is clear!…buh of course we wont see that because of our hollywood stars do no wrong…….oh pls,i rily dnt knw y dis is an issue.if anyone wanted boobs augumentation because they didn’t feel comfortable with theirs, they get one.no one calls them ‘transgender’ even pple dat condemned it will drool over it like they do over nickki’s body.so i say let them be!…if anyone wants to lighten their skin,it is actually not your business nd your opinion doesn’t matter at all.ah ahn.!the whitening controversy is jst too much.nd let me even ask sef…those who say they ‘love their skin’ pls how many of u use vaseline???…….lol….dnt b a hyprocrite! i love my skin tho.#mindurbusiness #dntdrinkpananolonaodapersonsheadache

Basically.. wat u r saying is skin lightening is really skin bleaching with safe products.. who are u fooling?

  19. Sara

    January 15, 2015 at 4:33 pm

But in a way skin lightening really is skin bleaching with safe products. And it’s kind of what it sounds like. Skin lightening may change your tone a shade or two, but it will not change your color. However, skin bleaching removes pigmentation. Which pretty much removes whatever color you were and turns you into a ghost like appearance.
