Glo-Sponsored TV Dancing Competition – “Dance with Peter” begins!

Details of the Glo-sponsored dance reality TV show were unveiled on Saturday at a glamorous ceremony held at Silverbird Galleria, in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The show, tagged “Dance with Peter“, is anchored by Peter Okoye of PSquare and is designed to promote dance culture among youths and provide a platform for those interested in dance as a career to launch into the entertainment stage.
On offer are mouth-watering prizes, including a brand new Toyota RAV 4 with N3million for the winner of the competition. The winner will also have the rare opportunity of featuring in PSquare’s next music video.
The first and second runners-up, on the other hand, will go home with a brand new Honda Civic car with N2million and a brand new Kia Rio car with N1million respectively. Both of them will also have the chance to feature in a top Glo Ambassador’s music videos.
Globacom said registration for the competition has started and it is open to only Glo Subscribers in Nigeria and Ghana. “Registration costs N100 for Nigeria and 0.5GHc for Ghana. Subscribers are required to send ‘DANCE’ to the shortcode 55517 in Nigeria and 3030 in Ghana. They will then be requested to send their details such as Name and Location at no extra charge. All successful registrations will get a confirmatory SMS with instructions on what to do next.
Auditions for the show will be held in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Benin and Abuja in Nigeria as well as in Accra, Ghana. Six dancers will be selected by the judges from each location for the real battle in Lagos.
Globacom disclosed that dance legends such as Peter Okoye, Kafayat Shafau Ameh, popularly known as Kaffy, and dance expert and choreographer, Flexxy, will feature as judges in show to be hosted by Ehis Okoegule of MTV Base.

“It is going to be the biggest reality TV show in recent time, with huge benefits for the participants in the competition, entertainment lovers and television viewers generally“, the company promised.
The show is scheduled to run for 13 weeks, with the first two weeks dedicated to profiling and auditions, and the next 10 weeks for the elimination series. The last episode would be the grand finale of the show which will be held in Lagos with international superstars, Glo explained.
“Dance with Peter is in line with our commitment to keep on delighting our teeming subscribers and adding value to their lives, economically and socially. Fun seekers on the continent in general and in West Africa in particular are about to witness the best dance show ever. It is going to be 13 weeks packed full of excitement“, it said.
Showbiz superstars and Glo ambassadors will feature as guest judges in the competition.

The show will be broadcast on Afrimagic, AIT in Nigeria, TV3 in Ghana and ORTV in Benin Republic. Broadcast times will be announced shortly.
