Obama Sending 300 Troops to Cameroon to Help Fight Boko Haram

US President Barack Obama on Wednesday said he has given a directive that 300 troops should be deployed to Cameroon to work with West African soldiers in efforts to fight Boko Haram.

New York Times reports that the announcement was made via a letter to congress, and confirms that troops will provide “intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance” in the region.

Also, White House press secretary, Josh Earnest, said that the troops would be armed for their protection but that they would not engage in combat.

The report further states that an advance force of about 90 military personnel had begun deploying to Cameroon.

Those troops should be coming to Nigeria not Cameroon, except if America is looking for something else in Cameroon.

Maybe because Cameroon presented their own Boko Haram issue to the UN General Assembly last month and Nigeria did not have a representative there.

American troops come to Nigeria? you realise pro-american opinion is on the downturn here. Most Nigerians do not want American troops on our soil and those who do obviously have not seen the state of countries that America troops have been in.

America has no successful experience combating insurgency, Boko Haram has been severely degraded, they’ve not successfully captured any town in months. We do not need American troops, we need information and helicopters.

Doesn’t that send some kind of message?
Means the mastermind behind boko haram is ingrained in the corridors of power of this country!
Only God will expose them all and judge them for all the innocent lives lost! In Jesus Name, Amen!

Actually not only God, competent journalists/Police and Prosecuting investigators can expose them, “The incorruptible Judge”(know the play?) can judge them. Better yet, we the people can say enough is enough and try marching for our country once in a while.
We Nigerians need to abandon this God go do am mentality, surely we haven’t forgotten God helps those who helps themselves and No food for the lazy man.
