Tekno’s “Next Rated” Nomination gets Withdrawn for his lack of Participation

Tekno has been disqualified from the only category he was nominated in for the 2016 Headies Awards. The TripleMG star was nominated in the “Next Rated” category but he called out the organization for calling him next rated after he had dropped quite a number of hits, especially in 2016. The organization, however, explained that any artist that hasn’t dropped an album can be put in the “Next Rated” category.

It looks like their explanation did not sit well with Tekno as he did not attend any of the mandatory activities for the people nominated in that category and as a result, he has now been disqualified.

Ycee, Aramide, Humblesmith and Mr. Eazi will now compete for the prize.

The show is set to hold today and will be hosted by Falz and Adesua Etomi.
