WISCAR Empower, Inspire and Motivate Young Women at its 2016 Annual Mentoring & Leadership Program themed ‘Transforming Leadership’

In a bid to continually create, inspire and motivate young women to engage in their vision for the future, Women in Successful careers (WISCAR) a non- profit organization, has successfully graduated another set of mentees through its annual Mentoring and Leadership program. The event which took place on Saturday 10th December 2016 at the Ace Olivia Hall City Mall Lagos, had discussants who talked about issues centered around the theme; Women Rising, Transforming Leadership.

Women in Successful Careers was started to help correct under representation of women in the upper reaches of both corporate and government institution and has been an enormous success over the years, with tremendous impact on the mentees.

This year’s event had Idiat Oluranti Adebule, Deputy Governor of Lagos state give the goodwill address which talked about the philosophical declaration that speaks to the innate ability of women to give transformational leadership to the society for growth and development.

Rear Admiral Itunu Hotonou, keynote speaker at the event said; it is an honour to be recognized at a gathering of professional career women and also give the keynote speech. I must commend the organizer of WISCAR, Amina Oyagbola for successfully putting together this platform to Mentor young women in their careers.

Founder of Women in Successful Careers Mrs. Amina Oyagbola speaking at the event; congratulated all outgoing mentees on their hard work during the rigorous one year training in leadership, “we are proud of your achievement and the sacrifice you have taken to get here today. To the inducting mentees, we welcome you to the program”.

Speaking further, she stated that Women should come together to empower and encourage each other in the society and seek strategic ways in which they can solve problems in their professional environment. She assured attendees that WISCAR will continue to use this platform to train and educate women on how important they are in the society.

Among the panelists for the discussions was Abiola Alabi –Managing partner Biola Alabi Media, Bolanle Austen Peters – Founder Terra culture and Hajara Adeola -Managing Director, Lotus Capital as they discussed extensively on steps needed to become a leader in today’s society.

WISCAR has made significant progress in the last years and has mentored a lot of young professional women who have gone through the intensive and unique 12 month structured WIN with WISCAR mentoring programme.

Beyond this group of specially trained and nurtured WISCAR mentees. WISCAR has assisted and helped to develop thousands of young and aspiring women through its high-quality training programmes, seminars & events put together by the WISCAR School of Excellence which provides structured competency based development for personal mastery and overall workplace effectiveness.
