We started 2017 with a bang! Throughout the month of January, we were all about the message of Manifestation. We spent two incredible days praising, praying and worshiping God with expectant hearts…

…But after that, then what?

For some of us, it seems like life is exactly the same. We were expecting fireworks and miracles, but our lives seem to have gone back to normal: work, bills to pay, and just stress, in general.

So, how exactly do we go from talking about Manifestation to actually experiencing it in real life?

One of the first – and most important – steps to that is, Dying To Self. (No, not literally dying!)

Our key verse for this fellowship is John 3:30. It says, “He must increase, but I must decrease.”

What it simply means is that God must become more important than everything else.

In order to allow Him to manifest Himself through us, we must “kill” the part of ourselves that just wants to turnup all the time. We must make sacrifices. We must put our natural desires aside – whether it is sleeping too much, eating too much, working too much, chasing money or even babes.

So that when they ask, turn down for what? We’ll know the answer: we must turn our desires all the way down, so that the Holy Spirit can turn all the way up in us, to the glory of God.

Join us this Saturday, the 4th of March, as we talk all about Dying to Self. We are very practical, so come with your questions, your arguments, your opinions, and friends. Ty Bello and Folabi Nuel will be joining us as well.

Date: Saturday, March 4th, 2017.
Time: 4pm
Venue: Guiding Light Assembly, Parkview Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos.
Theme: Dying To Self
Guests: Ty Bello and Folabi Nuel

Who are we, and why should you join us?

We are Ignite, the youth fellowship of Guiding Light Assembly. We are the young members of the GLA family, young Christians who love Jesus and are trying to figure out practical ways to live the Word in an increasingly complicated world. We meet on the first Saturday of every month to eat, gist, ask a lot of questions and to find out what the Holy Spirit has to say about our everyday issues.
