Nigerian Internship FairIt is a significant fact that far more must be done to provide youths with relevant skills before they can be let into the employment pool. Stutern, the Nigeria leading internship website that helps employers hire recent-graduates and undergraduates as interns and entry level staff will host the Nigerian youths and employers in the second edition of the annual Nigeria Internship Fair.

Date: Friday, Aug 18th & Saturday, Aug 19th, 2017.

Nigerian youths make up an alarming 60% of the 180m population. Our tertiary institutions graduate about 2.5 million youths annually and about 40% of the graduates remain unemployed or unemployable due to little or no employable skills. This number will, unfortunately, remain on the increase if proper action is not taken.

One action that every forward-thinking nation should take is to engage youths in internships. According to the Former Federal Minister of Education, Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili in a foreword of the Stutern’s Nigeria Graduate Report, “In no continent is effective policy response to youth unemployment more necessary than in Africa and in no country is it more desperate than in Nigeria.”

Using a transparency model borrowed from Paystack, we broke down the second quarter of our activities at Stutern to show how we have been tackling youth employment by providing youths with internship opportunities.

From the result, we have successfully filled over 70% of last quarter’s positions successfully and this upcoming fair will be providing internship and entry level job opportunities from hundreds of employers. We will be addressing soft-skills and employability issues with engaging workshops and panel sessions from leading companies.

Prior to the fair, employers will be posting their positions on Stutern and candidates will have a chance to apply. Stutern will be screening the candidates in order to pick the best potentials that will be interviewed on the second of the fair. To increase chances of being interviewed and hired, candidates should join the Facebook group here as we will be hosting leading Human Resource experts to prepare candidates for the fair.

Candidates and Employers can register here: www.stutern.com/fair.

If you would like to sponsor a candidate to the fair, it costs only N2,000. You can sponsor a candidate here and we will send the ticket.
