True Love is a blessing. Toyin Erewa and Timi Akinde exemplified that as they celebrated and solemnized their love, the couple were joined in holy matrimony on the 5th of June 2010. Toyin & Timi’s journey towards the altar started when the groom met the bride at a music event and instantly he knew that she was truly special. Friendship budded into romance and romance into love.
After a romantic proposal, they began planning their special day.
On the 3rd of June 2010, the couple celebrated their traditional wedding at the Air Force Officers’ Mess in Victoria Island, Lagos. It was a truly festive event! Surrounded by their families and friends, Toyin & Timi completed the traditional engagement rites. It was a melange of cultures as Toyin started off the day in her stunning bronze and gold Itsekiri outfit and then transformed as she changed into a gold iro and buba complemented with a pink gele to embrace her husband’s culture.
After the ceremony, the joyous couple danced and thoroughly enjoyed their day!
On the 5th of June 2010, Toyin walked down the aisle at Our Saviour’s Church in Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos and married her love, Timi. The bride, Toyin was simply stunning in her white thai silk wedding gown. With its sweetheart neckline and cascading ruffled train, it was a perfect fit for the special bride! Her look was perfectly complemented by a lace bolero (for the church service), veil, diamond earrings, necklace and hair piece. The groom, Timi was handsome in his tailored blue suit with a pewter tie. The bridesmaids were in knee-length coral dresses while the groomsmen were in blue suits with pink ties.
Toyin and Timi’s reception took place at the Landmark Event Centre and it was fun and romantic! With the olive green, gold and touch of pink colour theme visible all around, it was also beautiful. There were lots of fun moments from the performance of the dance troupe to the ‘stepping’ by the couple along with their friends and romantic moments including their first dance and the groom’s speech – Toyin and Timi’s wedding was simply wonderful!
