“Swan Addiction” – The Spring/Summer 2012-2013 Collection Lookbook by Nigerian Design Label, Moofa

Nigerian design label, Moofa is out with its colorful spring/summer 2012-2013 collection – Swan Addiction – which is inspired by the female silhouette.
According to the label’s creative director, Yinka Fashola, the collection is an enchanted tale of fairies in a valley of dreams, harmonizing the romance of a fairy tale with the passion of a love story. Sparkling reflections of natures beauty accent sensual silhouettes structured ensembles of tulle, taffeta, laces, leather and chiffon. The pieces in the collection are an expression of the fairies inside every woman, brought to life in shades of red, black, beige and blue.

Picture 7 – the black dress is a stolen design. I have that exact same dress which I bought in 2009 from a friend who sells stuff so I don’t know how this designer is claiming the design is hers. Now I can’t even be certain if the rest of the designs here were copied.
I’m going to hunt down a picture I took in the dress and tweet it at you Bella when I have the time so you can compare and form your own conclusion.
ideas are not created, they are innovated, your dress from 2009 is probably a watered down version of another dress from 2001. As an architect, i can categorically say that it is possible the designer did not look at the design you speak of. its a simple shift dress trend a lot of designers are doing these days and the style dates back to the late 40s. Cheers.

That style is a classic style that dates back to the 1930s. Even some high end designers have reproduced their versions of the flapper dress. No current designer can lay claim to its originality, even your 2009 dress is a copy.

No seriously, @Idak, are u kiddn me, taylors?!? Smh, every design is modification of an older concept already invented. However its the spin and colour concepts that make it unigue to the particular designer. It still speaks ingenuity and creativity… that should never be watered down. not all colour schemes work best with eathother or with a particular design. It takes trial and error and time to conceptualize a peice. Plz dont hate appreciate!!!
