I like the fact that mimi O was able to work it for both day and night but my regret is that she wasn’t creative enough to really ‘wow’ while going frm day to night. The only thing she did was switch footwear. She didn’t do justice 2 the dress at all .#Lazy . Whereas Ini-dima put so much effort to throw focus on the dress, she put her hair up, nude make-up, and that purse just stole my heart. Yes girl that’s how to rock a lacy number. #Kudos

  • mr man February 19, 2016 at 10:46 am

They both look great but i prefer ini. In other news i think it would be really nice if bella naija can start a weekly profile of Nigerian Designers. I also hope Nigerian designers can invest in a proper e-commerce website rather than just Instagram postings to showcase their wares.

  • Self-Potrait Stan February 19, 2016 at 11:21 am

Dang I hate it when Nigerian ‘DESIGNERS’ blatantly copy the designs of oyibo designers and charge top-dollar, going on to act like they have divine stylish inspiration and all. Anyway, this is a SELF PORTRAIT design and I’m saddened that we are not letting ur creative juices flow. WE choose to go the mediocre route and COPY COPY COPY!!

    More to copy:

Oh please Shut up ! The designer herself made mention of the inspiration of this dress on her instagram page and she said it came from Leila Fowler’s dress which was a Self Portrait dress. Kindly tell me if you havent shown her tailor a Dress on asoebi bella to sew for you?? has anyone called you out for stealing? I follow Fablane on IG and i know that she became popular for her signature dress and she did not call this dress her design, hence the disclaimer on her iG page where she credited Leila Fowlers dress.

So please, before you rush to bash her, at least appreciate her honesty and good craftmanship haba!

You don’t need to post links. When Ini wore the dress, fa blank told the story that it was inspired by a skirt worn by funke fowler. The designer/tailor makes what client wants. Client wanted this and she got it. Finish

  • Fufuniski February 19, 2016 at 11:41 am

Ini wore it better, but this dress is a blatant rip off from Self Potrait. No originality!

  • someone February 19, 2016 at 11:49 am
