On the night she was crowned 2010 Miss Nigeria Oluwadamilola Agbajor stated her life long dream destination was to visit the Island of Hawaii. Since she was crowned as the Queen Ambassador in 2010, Oluwadamilola has been working extensively to promote malaria prevention and treatment initiatives.
On April 29th 2011, Oluwadamilola Agbajor took a well deserved break as she embarked on her vacation as Miss Nigeria to the Island of Hawaii, USA. Oluwadamilola was accompanied by 1st Runner Up – Miss Lagos Erica Okundaye for the 1 week vacation sponsored by Reality Vacation Innovations.
After traveling for two days, the Queen Ambassador was welcomed by Staff of the Bay at Waikoloa Beach Resort, who were anxiously awaiting the arrival of their first African Queen – Miss Nigeria 2010 Oluwadamilola Agbajor.
Hawaii’s natural beauty, warm tropical climate, inviting waters and waves, and active volcanoes made it the perfect destination for Oluwadamilola upon the completion of her 1st semester exams as a second year Mass Communications student at the University of Lagos.
While on vacation Miss Nigeria and 1st Runner Up-Miss Lagos participated in a variety of activities. They took a grand tour of the Island of Hawaii and its neighboring islands. As well as a guided visit to Hawaii’s Volcanoes National Park which highlights two of the world’s most active volcanoes, and offers insights on the birth of the Hawaiian Islands and views of dramatic volcanic landscapes.
Miss Nigeria was also given the opportunity to learn more about the Islands of Hawaii by visiting several museums on Hawaiian history and culture as well as the famous natural white and black sand beaches of Hawaii derived from the erosion of volcanic rocks, and white sand made by marine organisms, or a mixture of both.
