Toh. I really don’t know why Nigerians are so ignorant. Yep the pictures might be crap you don’t expect everyone to look amazing. So we can’t do Halloween because it’s not part of our culture. Biko don’t celebrate Christmas is it part of our culture? Wasn’t it a white man that brought it to our land. Mehn God help us

      October 29, 2013 at 4:49 pm

are you kidding me? Christmas aint for our culture. so because we are in Nigeria we don’t have the right to celebrate the birth of our lord the Jesus. you are really the ignorant one. enjoy your fake Halloween…. and don’t forget your broom. #wannabe coping coping.

Obiz, no vex o. I’m still laughing at the comments. But its just that the ideas behind halloween are the same things we cast and bind every week in church and even in the shrine down the village apiam-way. It can be fun, yes. But its hardly in the same category as Christmas for most Christians. On another note though, when I saw the name “Angels & Demons”, I could think of was Kokolette Rita’s speech on EFCC and Demons.

As though Nigeria and Nigerians are not scary enough!!

Anywho……I have better halloween costume ideas Naija style: Sango, Abija, Fadeyi oloro, Denrele Edun, any generic Babalawo/native doc, orebekumo if you’re short, wilywily, Madam Gagoo(wrong spelling?), orishabunmi, red wrapper witch, white wrapper witch, black wrapper witch, Papa Ajasco, Domitilla/ Cossy (for my sluts in the building), Dr King, Clifford Orji…..I could go on forever!!
Please peeps, Don’t just go putting your expired Brazilian weave and randomly painted faces (which is most chicks these days anyways) without a theme to it…If you would do anything please do it well. Thanks and God bless.

More!! Baba Suwe, Generic possessed househelp (just plait your hair and wear a “vintage dress” with dunlop slippers), Egun (masquerade), Eyoo (for the Lagosians), if you’re going as the devil, don’t do the silly western red cape and pitch fork thing….Commit to it…Be eshu laalu, go around with some palm oil in a calabash and some dripping from your head while you’re at it…..

@CarliforniaBawlar you are simply hilarious. I can’t stop laughing. They don’t even know what Halloween is. They think its cool. Celebrating witches. We abroad are seriously making sure our children don’t get involved, Nigerians are promoting it. The witches you run away from are the ones you’re celebrating. May God help us! I plead the Blood of Jesus!

@ Obi thanks. people like to cast and bind and want to
still do the things that open the doors wide open for satan to have
free entry into their lives. After they go to church to cast and
bind when they leave church they do the things that invites Satan
to come back. these days the Devil is using the entertainment
industry big time to enter into peoples lives because with
entertainment it is easy for people to drop their guards and see it
as harmless fun. may I say that the Devil has been alive for ages
and have seen all sorts of human beings and he is very crafty and
knows how to make people accept the things he wants you to accept
in a subtle way. so be careful and don’t think he is not behind
this Halloween. he has even gotten into the movie and music
industry as he is into entertainment that does not glorify God but
promotes self glory big time, he has entered the educational
systems, of lately I have notice very disturbing children cartoon
which are very dark and even seen witchcraft children cartoons. Do
you think he does not know what he is doing???. I live in the UK .
there are two themes that go with Halloween advertisements in the
UK. 1. the place for lost souls 2. or they use the souls of the
danmed. it is the advertisement theme that goes with the Halloween
itself and am certain that those statement used are not picked for
the fun of it. I watched a Halloween programme two years ago on BBC
and the meaning behind the celebration is witches who celebrate the
dead. Satan is the originator of the festival. weather you know the
meaning of the festival or celebrate it in ignorance the Devil
knows you are celebrating him. And for those who keep saying
Christianity belong to the whites or its a white mans religion or
whatever you call it. the reason Christianity was introduced by the
whites was because when Jesus Christ came he came to the Jews and
his instruction to them was in Mark 16:15 15And He said to them,
“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.
Matthew 28:18-20. 18And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying,
“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19″Go
therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20teaching
them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you
always, even to the end of the age.” This is how the gospel of
Jesus started spreading because these disciples began to spread it
to other countries and as they made new converts. these new
converts took the gospel to other cities and that is how it came to
Africa. a lot of people where idol worshippers as at the time the
    gospel came to them.

aviod such events.please before you go for such devilish parties,go

troubles already,do not invite more out of ignorance

The word Halloween or Hallowe’en dates to about 1745[13] and is of Christian origin.[14] The word “Halloween” means “hallowed evening” or “holy evening”.[15] It comes from a Scottish term for All Hallows’ Eve (the evening before All Hallows’ Day).[16][17] In Scots, the word “eve” is even, and this is contracted to e’en or een. Over time, (All) Hallow(s) E(v)en evolved into Halloween. Although the phrase “All Hallows'” is found in Old English (ealra hālgena mæssedæg, mass-day of all saints), “All Hallows’ Eve” is itself not seen until 1556. Halloween or Hallowe’en (/ˌhæləˈwin, -oʊˈin, ˌhɒl-/; a contraction of “All Hallows’ Evening”),[5] also known as All Hallows’ Eve,[6] is a yearly celebration observed in a number of countries on October 31, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows’ Day. It initiates the triduum of Hallowmas, the time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints (hallows), martyrs, and all the faithful departed believers. Thank you for the info. but what they are celebrating does not in any way look like celebrating those who died for Christ or the gospel abi? we like to believe it or not or try to behave that it does not count. but every action has spiritual implications to it. And I don’t see God behind this one. At least the horror films released MASTERMINDED BY THE DEVIL which are meant to deliberately allows the spirit of fear to have free access to harass and intimidate human beings says it all for me.

It was those who were not Christians that were mocking the Christians for basically having celebrating their dead. Hence the costumes: ghosts, witches, zombies….things related to death

The Witches people cast and pray against in
Several churches, now they’ll dress like one
Just because it’s something “Different” and
    Oyibo people celebrates it.
Naija people never cease to amaze me….
Not all Americans celebrate Halloween, millions
    Of Americans Dont…
    It’s horrific, it’s evil, it’s negative, nothing
    Good comes out from it.
After watching The horror movie “Halloween”
Many of my friends who glorified and celebrated it
I think in The Bible, it says “Suffer not a witch to live”
Then, you’ll consciously initiate yourself into The
Witches coven In The name of “Dress up”
Then wonder what’s going on couple of years after
While running to all pastors, prophets and Puppeteers for
    Divine prayers and counseling…

Hmmmmmm…. so since when did Nigeria started the celebrations of witchcraft and wizardry. Na wa o instead of them to copy good things to improve on they are using the celebration of halloween as a form of party. Rubbish!!!!

To be honest all the replica, the dress ups, the witches, the brooms, including the horror movies is a mirror of hell fire itself.

There is nothing there that mirrors the nature of God himself such as Love, joy, peace, happiness and all his loving attributes But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness,

23 Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge].

rather fear, anger, hatred, confusion, chaos and all the nature of the devil. which are the doings (practices) of the flesh are clear (obvious): they are immorality, impurity, indecency, witchcraft. 20 Idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger (ill temper), selfishness, divisions (dissensions), party spirit (factions, sects with peculiar opinions, heresies),
21 Envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like.

There is enough problems in ones life than to go and add to it. cos the devil is looking for how to add more problems to peoples lives and after attending such weeks, months and years to come problems start manifesting itself in diverse forms, don’t think someone is chasing you back home or your enemy is trying to destroy you oh.
Satan knows how to use peoples ignorance to put them in bondage and destroy them. Every slightest ignorance is an opportunity and chance for him to do his worst on an individual.
