The past weekend was definitely a busy one with two major events happening at the same time.

While a number of Nigerian A-listers were at the 2014 Genevieve Magazine Pink Ball, quite a number of other celebrities were at the 2014 Nollywood Movie Awards that held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Lagos.

Dakore Akande, Uru Eke, Kayla Oniwo of Cool FM, Gideon Okeke and Denrele Edun were the hosts for the event and they definitely kept the guests entertained.

A lot of faces from the movie industry were present and guests at the event include Tunde Kelani, Kunle Afolayan, Nse Ikpe-Etim, Tonto Dikeh, Beverly Naya, Julius Agwu, Ene Maya Lawani, Makida Moka, Toni Kan, Alex Ekubo, Ik Ogbonna, Adunni Ade and more.

Check out the guests at the event!

Everything here just made me speechless. We take 1 step forward, 25 steps backward. If you know you don’t have the hourglass figure, and have refused to invest in yummy tummy, please stay away from the figure 8 dresses. It does nothing for you, trust me!

    October 20, 2014 at 4:14 pm

@Eve82, I can’t deal either. With the exception of a selected few, I’m wondering if most of the women who attended this event do not possess an actual mirror in their homes. Why else would you step out of your house looking a certain way? You guys, na beg person get to now use to beg you – get your style game together. It’s almost 2015 and we’re still “on the mata”. Abeg. Biko.

The only section that I looked straight through without flinching was the “Little Black Dress” segment. And the chocolate sister in the red jumpsuit, with the black pointy pumps and blonde cropped ‘fro (can’t remember her name) gave me life in a major way. I love it all, from your pink nail polish and your minimal accessories to your smile. Two other unnamed sisters were also “werking” it with fab aplomb – one in the matching ankara print crop top + pencil skirt and the other in the matching blue cropped top + highwaist flare pants.

Finally the men (mostly) turned out nicely and this is the best I’ve seen Ivie Okujaye looking.

I would have suggested most of these tacky ladies hire a stylist but Tonto Dike supposedly has one and she looks as tacky as those Christmas cards we used to “hang on rope” in the parlour back in the 90s. No good stylist in this country.
You people should Google and buy magazines. practical mags like instyle and glamour. they have websites too. PLEASE!

Midriff outfit is really not for everyone. Please look mirror before you comot for house. Some makeup are too much combined with the ugly looking clothes. Some of the males look choked up in the 6 piece suit. Average fashion overall, not impressed.

Not quite sure where Makida is going to…very underdressed. Tonto been real quiet lately (on the DL), she looks cute however she should never have worn those shoes. Ufuoma’s dress, I love!

So Ene lawani’s outfit to the pink ball, I thought was ok, but seeing here that she repeated the outfit to this event is not so much of a good idea. Yes, it was the same day, yes she attended both but yes she would’ve gotten another outfit or simply would’ve attended just one event. She knew she would be photographed, home girl would’ve gotten another dress.

Adunni Ade that is a serious hell NO. I tend to agree with most BN comments, if you know your body type, why force yourself into a figure hugging No. 8 Dress, or the short dresses when you don’t have good legs to show for it? Tonto’s dress is just too tacky for word, the fit is ALL wrong. The lady in the red jumpsuit definitely did it for me, its high time we understood and embraced our lovely hair and let go of the goat, horse, bear or whatever the weaves are made of now! As usual, kudos to the men, they always try sha!
