APC Reportedly Rules Out Fashola as Vice Presidential Candidate Because of his Religion
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reportedly ruled out Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola as a running mate to the party’s presidential candidate, because of his religion.
A “highly placed” source in the party reportedly revealed this to Punch.
Because Fashola is a Muslim, he is ineligible for the running mate position, as the party will probably have a Muslim as presidential candidate. APC is said to be determined not to have a Muslim-Muslim ticket.
Out of the four presidential aspirants in the party, only one is a Christian: Newspaper publisher, Sam Nda-Isaiah.
The other candidates are: Former Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari; Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwakwanso; and former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
