Former governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, who was impeached in 2014, and subsequently traveled outside the country on a self-imposed exile, has finally returned to Nigeria, and turned himself in to Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) authorities.

You will recall that following his impeachment, EFCC declared Nyako and his son, Abdul-Aziz wanted over allegations of conspiracy, stealing, abuse of office and money laundering.

According to Sahara Reporters, Nyako was in EFCC custody yesterday where he was interrogated extensively.

The report also states “An EFCC source told SaharaReporters the former governor stole billions of Naira from his state and then escaped to the UK when he remained until last week.”
