EBONY Magazine is all about the black models striking more than poses for its September 2015 issue.
The cover has a special message of affirmation in today’s age where black models are fading from the runway. This issue takes a look at the ‘dying breed’ of black models and speaks to veteran runway models like – Beverly Johnson, Tyra Banks, Pat Cleveland and more, who talk on their experiences in the fashion industry, and say – ‘Black models are ambassadors representing far more than the physical grace of Black people; they also represent our pride.’
To buttress their point, they have recruited a new crop of black models who are not only making a statement for Black skin, but also for the many shades that comes with it in a 10-page editorial. We get to see Chantelle Winnie (Winnie Harlow), Milan Dixon, Diandra Forrest, Samantha Archibald, Fatima Siad and Marquita Pring look fierce, model this Summer’s hottest trends and showcase the diversity of black skin.
