Should He? Chris Rock is being Pressured to Step Down as Host of the 2016 Oscars
Jada Pinkett-Smith and Spike Lee will not be attending the Oscars this year. Snoop Dogg won’t be watching. Several other stars including George Clooney, David Oyelowo and Lupita Nyong’o have expressed that they are not happy with the lack of diversity everyone is talking about.
But the black community wants more.
Both 50 Cent and Tyrese have openly called for the host of the award show Chris Rock to boycott the show and not perform his hosting duties this year.
Last year Chris Rock eased the “diversity talks” by making a lot of jokes about it while on stage – but this year singer and actor Tyrese wants Chris Rock to do more than that.
Tyrese wrote in a long rant on Instagram:
Chris Rock do the right thing make a statement – were relying on you to DO the right thing….. There is NO JOKE YOU CAN CRACK TO EVER CHANGE THE WAY WE ALL FEEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
50 Cent had also earlier written:
Chris please do not do the oscars awards. You mean a lot man, don’t do it. Please.
On the flipside, Comedian and actor Ricky Geravis advised Chris Rock to go ahead with the show because:
If I were @chrisrock, I wouldn’t be considering boycotting The Oscars. I’d be thinking “this shit is live. I can do some serious damage.”

What are your thoughts on this BellaNaijarians? Should he also boycott the show for the black community?
So far Chris Rocks only response to the #OscarsSoWhite drama is this tweet:
The #Oscars. The White BET Awards. https://t.co/8qjLR0uysI
