Essence magazine held its annual “Essence Black Women in Music” event last night, Thursday 11^th of February, in a bid to show support for black women in the music industry.

At the event there were soulful performances from Grammy-nominated singers Andra Day and Jazmine Sullivan in front of guests including Queen Latifah, Zendaya, MC Lyte, Christina Milian and more.
