I think South African celeb sense of style and red carpet readiness is ten times better than naija red carpet, yet the world knows empty barrels (naijas) make the most noise. Be mad all u want I stated the truth

      – please go suck your thumb in the “nutty” corner. There was nothing spectacular about this red carpet, but of course you wanted to get your diss in!

TJOOO!!! why trash your own people like that? Come on, it’s not that serious, it’s just entertainment and fashion.

Bonang looks good, Terry Pheto is cute, other than that this red carpet is a bit underwhelming :/

South African Film & Television Awards? or who bares the most awards?
Seems like its a sin not to show off bosom or derriere these days.

(Photos: Boity, Fix Moeti, Alicia, Thembi) Did they just sit before their stylist only to describe what part of their private areas they wanna show the world? I earnestly hope fabric stores don’t go out of business simply because majority of ladies have decided to finally walk around in their birthday suit.

Bonang Matheba looks amazing! And the other ladies look awesome too. Not sure what the lady in the black jumpsuit was trying to achieve though. lol

Most of them killed it. Beautiful architectural dresses with great great bodies. Only Rita Dominic came close to actually stunning in the red carpet. It’s because most naija Stars wear rubbish that is why a Mercy Aigbe and her followers are ranting on Instagram abi Twitter on being best dressed. Although I agree that Yoruba movie stars tend to be sidelined, but what Mercy wore will never ever near my best dressed. The back of the dress was tacky and the hairstyle made her face rounder than tomatoes. These South African women will just push mercy to the alata section of the red carpet, for real. When you all go to Dubia or any of your numerous trips, una no dey see good clothes buy or all the money finished on the air tickets? Cos I don’t get it. Oh you will say now you want to ‘buy Nigeria’ at the detriment of buying nonsense? Most Nigerian designers are terrible at fitting and finishing with poor tastes in choosing quality materials. Nigerians really need to step up their game on the red carpet. It’s beyond ridiculous. I’m talking like this because we make a lot of noise on exporting RUBBISH, naturally I wouldn’t have cared. Sometimes we just need to shut up.

hawu!! but some SA people say Nigeys red carpet is great. So it just depends on people’s different tastes I guess. We in SA got this red carpet ish on lock, but come on now you don’t really have to bash your peeps like that.

I agree it depends on people’s different tastes. My tastes are South African now o. Call me Bonang Mbeki ??. The only thing Nigerians get right is our traditional wear. Don’t blame me I’ve been having Nightmares with love from the garishness of ‘Tiannah styling’.? A girl just had to finally vent.☹☹☹☹☹☹☹☹?

WOW!!! Fact : most South African celeb Olympus are as firm and tight as their bodies!!! Gosh see booby stand. And there are no illusion of pouch or stomach anywhere. Very impressive and they bring their A game on alldayeveryday… ALL HAIL

  9. BongsZulu_SA

    March 22, 2016 at 12:35 pm

The reason you Nigeys are bashing your own is because you are forever drawing comparisons to these South African red carpet events and how the SA celebs rock them. Is that even necessary? Why even compare when we are so different ( rightfully and beautifully so)? How our fashion, style and entertainment differs should be appreciated than compared/gauged. Big ups BellaNaija you should now cover a whole lot of our events. There’s a whole lot happening this side!

I have to say the SA celebs have wayyy better bodies and also dress to fit their bodies as well. They dont even have to use all that body cincher nonsense. It also looks like they have iron and 24/7 light in their house.

Please my Nollywood celebs take several seats and watch what red carpet is all about. These SA celebs nailed it.

SA kills the red carpet effortlessly … Deal with it

S.L.A.Y!!! Dear Lord! Not everyone though,.. like the first 9 photos (too lazy to type). Even the overarching nudity is a ‘bit’ acceptable/tastefully done/not right but it’s ok/fill in your own phrases or synonyms.

They obviously have a heightened sense of fashion and red carpet styling than Nigerian celebrities (I’m Nigerian).

Some outfits were awful though, but mom said not to speak if I won’t be nice. So there.
