Ma’Bello is no stranger to the curvy side of fashion! Ma’Bello Clothier came into the fashion scene in December 2012, after the creative director; Osa Aisien spent years trying to find clothes that were stylish and flattering in her size but wasn’t impressed with the results.

Now a household name for the style savvy curvy Nigerian woman, the brand is known for its perfectly detailed pieces, on trend options and great styling. They keep pushing and challenging fashion stereotypes with their intricate craftsmanship and now in the same stellar fashion, they present a collection titled “Imose”, meaning Beauty in Bini language.

‘The collection was inspired by the women in my life that have impacted me greatly. The Modupe Kimono is inspired by my late Mother; Modupe Ogiemwonyi… The other pieces were inspired my sisters Efe and Amenze – says the designer Osa Aisien explaining her inspiration behind the collection.

See photos from the collection.

Just curious, is the other darker lady pregnant, or she is just more “curvy” in the stomach region?

They both look great but can’t women look stylish without exposing cleavage? The hips on the fair lady though… correct, beautiful, full- figured, sexy African woman!

  7. Nice. Kudos.

The designs are nice. I, also, don’t like women showing cleavage. They’re beautiful and the designs are nice without that. That just cheapens and is an embarrassing distraction away from what truly needs appreciating. The designs and design ideas are nice just that better finishing is needed in a few places, mostly all the places where lace is added on to a design/fabric. Good work though! Really nice and not boring. And, glad to see the models had fun, thoroughly enjoyed the shoot and felt beautiful; that comes through. And kudos to the photographer and designer and everybody else who helped ensure they felt relaxed and had fun.

Jeez I love love love the collection!!! Would wear almost everything. Makes me want to try kimonos and I’ve hated them up until now. I like the fact that they did not seem it necessary to “snatch” the belly/waist of the darker model. Keeping it real. The models are very pretty, and I like the fact that they rocked natural hair or natural hair extensions. Did y’all notice that the darker model has trim ankles despite her size, and the fairer model has full legs all the way to the ground despite the fact that she’s slimmer? Lol. Those hips don’t lie mehn

Lovely collection, the beautiful ladies make the collection relatable to different shapes.
I hope people know that humans come in different shapes, stating the obvious differences between the two ladies is very annoying and rude

wow this designer sure knows her onions! almost all the pieces are fab. what’s with the cliche that the term a ‘real African woman’ implies. I don’t know why some folks are so shallow and don’t give out quality time 2 finding feet and giving their own take on things, No they prefer to run with the pied pipper. so Africanness revolves around curvy?! I know some disgruntled shally- shallows will misjudge my comment
