Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State was recently interviewed by Channels TV Presenter Maupe Ogun on ‘Hard Copy’

He spoke on a number of issues including the Chibok girls release, the recent Judges arrest, herdsmen attacks, Ekiti Gate and more.

On being controversial:
I am entitled to my views, Don’t forget in politics. If you cannot get hold of me, you have to brand me as controversial.

On the Chibok Girls release:
Let me put it this way, the statement was my opinion The issues of the Chibok girls came the next day and it was like a strategy to sway the way Nigerians were thinking at that time We owe Nigerians an explanation, The system is maturing everyday. I want to make it very clear, that I’m still not very clear about this issue of the Chibok girls. You might not like my These girls that were to sit for exams as Physics students and the first one they brought to us can not speak English. The scond one they brought was resisted by the Bring Back Our Girls group. When you look at the scenario, you begin to ask questions. Is this all make-believe?..We are no longer in the 18th century.

I am not aware of that report and let me tel you somehting, in Ekiti we probably don’t have 500 Physics students. Are you telling me they have 200 Physics students, but if they want us to believe this story, we’ll keep our fingers crossed. One day this stories won’t come out. I believe a lot of things were shrouded in secrecy, I am not convinced.

On the Judges raid:
When you look at the pattern of appointment in a country with such diversity like Nigeria, you’ll appreciate that everybody believes that the next person on the line, Justice Onnoghen will probably not be appointed and when you look at unfolding events… when you gag the judges, when you begin to harass the judges… the hope of the average man to get justice will be difficult.

On the Herdsmen Attacks & Ekiti Gate:
Growing up, we saw a lot of people live with and around us rearing cattle and doing a lot of things. They were using ordinary sticks and things like that. Anything that will involve you being harmed, you should check it as soon as possible. When people take advantage of harmless people, people that gave you space to do your business and you feed on their farmland, their crops and you harass them daily because you have weapons. Where did they get those kind of weapons from? When you This is a bill that everybody in Ekiti state is standing for and about. In this new urban renewal that we are shouting about
