toke-makinwas-on-becoming-launch-november-2016-bellanaija-25“On Becoming” the memoir by Media personality Toke Makinwa was launched on Sunday of November 27th 2016 at an intimate gathering held at The Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The intimate event, hosted by Tee A and Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi, was attended by close friends, family, industry colleagues and well wishers. The evening started with a keynote address by Hon. Song choices included Aretha Franklin’s A Rose is Still a Rose and Whitney Houston’s Exhale (Shoop).

The highlight of the evening was the official unveiling of ‘On Becoming’, flanked by Esther Akinyelure, Mo Abudu, Ruth Osime and Adenike Adebola. Hon. Abike Dabiri unveiled a life size version of the book art to breathtaking fireworks and theatrics.

The book readings then commenced with Debola Williams and Arese Ugwu who read excerpts from the Prologue and 1st chapter respectively, whilst guests delighted their tastebuds with deliciously scrumptious Baileys-infused sweet treats.

The evening ended with a book signing whilst posing for pictures with the Author. The celebration continued as guests tasted and savoured signature Baileys and Ciroc cocktails.

Gradually people see Toke for what she really is ……. A money hungry fame chaser regardless of what price to pay . Let her continue with her STI tea …. She was on VLOG advising people to leave their spouse at the slightest provocation yet she took all these . All Toke does is Lie lie lie .

Same person who had a surprise wedding abi , now she owned up to the fact that Maje stood her up 3 times . Small small the world will open up to her lies . She released an intro pictures first , inside family said No Intro ever took place …… Same Toke said for many years she never bleached and had Voltrons attacking anyone who said Toke was dark in secondary school……. All of a sudden because she wants to sell a book then SHE BLEACHED BECAUSE OF MAJE….lol . Continue with the lies .

Read the book , TOKE was always the other woman who was forcing herself on Maje . SHe herself has indirectly acknowledge that

She obviously has no integrity , no dignity and no true friends …… who will buy the book , how much will it really make her after a month of Noise . Let her go ask Iyabo Obasanjo how book market . She thinks she is hurting them back but Maje and Anita is coming out smelling like a ROSE ……….

      November 28, 2016 at 10:50 pm

The book and its contents are just very low class. Toke, Toke!!!! Really?!!!! He refused to cum inside you; gave you an STI; you were paying rent; you watched a sex tape with the woman you knew he loved; he made you bleach (lol). All this from your own mouth? On your own free will!. Everyone at your book launch using your shameless hunger for fame for laughs and a night out.
You were doing ok in redeeming your bruised ego after the shit your husband pulled on you but this shit right here, this is just a mess. Who are you helping? Women in unhappy marriages? Helping them to wash their ripped soiled knickers in public? I thought Tiwa broke the mould but you just took the mantle. This here proves you have no friends.

    • Ttonu

      November 29, 2016 at 11:55 am

hmmm……never underestimate what the hunger for fame can do to someone.jungle justice is not only carried out physically on the streets,it’s also carried out emotionally, spiritually and ohh….social medially.that said, in the bible when two women were laying claim to a baby and they were brought forward to king, he listened carefully to both sides before he passed judgement.i have heard far worst stories on couples that make my skin crawl than what am hearing from toke and some people are raining abusing, cursing taking sides, when they’ve not heard from the other party, everything just does’nt add up.Toke after all the glam, fame, only you, maje and God know the TRUTH.

Ebi like say you be Anita or Maje. Why the hate. Who are you what have you done. How have you impacted people’s lives. Do you know how many women suffer in silence because of what Nigerian men do to them. Am sure you do not because you are probably the other woman in a married man’s life. Even if she begged or dragged him by the neck to the alter he committed ADULTERY. And there is no excuse for it. Oprah is the richest black woman alive, please how did she make her money. Let her make money by sharing her story, let her make money by being a light to many Nigerian women. Let by being the voice to many Nigerian women.

That book is heavy…it is deep…for me, it is beyond Toke… It mirrored “the truth” I have never told anyone

Mehn! I thought I alone noticed. What’s with the over the top make-up. They looked like they were going for a stage performance that usually needs heavy makeup because of camera lighting. Please, people should love their skin. This trending over beaten face is horrible and with Nigeria’s hot weather, mehn people would suffer from a lot of skin issues.

  8. Someone Naughty

    November 28, 2016 at 3:21 pm

My annoyance with Toke and this book of hers which is ‘on becoming’ the woman she is today, is that she has equated 30-something years of her life to one failed relationship based on the excerpts read online. That’s just plain disappointing.

How can you let this one thing define your existence?

    • Anon

      November 28, 2016 at 5:52 pm

Have you read the book ? Most of you clearly haven’t. The Maje bit was just a chapter. –

    • Someone Naughty

      November 28, 2016 at 8:58 pm

I clearly stated “based on the excerpts read online…”

So many excerpts have been published online and they only contain the love triangle story.

I won’t be buying the book to read because based on the excerpts, Toke has not healed and I think her publishing it now is premature.

    • Ibiza

      November 29, 2016 at 8:23 am

LOOOOOL. I have read the book sunshine. It was Maje all the way. Her parent’s death was like 2 chapters…the rest was her relationship with Maje, how they met, all the times they fought (he had numerous girls e.g Amina, Hauwa, Anita).
Lol she even told us that he has a son in London- not Anita’s own. And she kinda admitted that Anita was more of a partner than she was. Although I don’t think she’s forgiven Anita, she’s definitely forgiven Maje….she called him to tell him so.

Lol her friend, Arese is the real G ? she said ‘so guys what are we gonna do with this baby? Abort it.” …

I’m not sure how I felt after reading it though. The only feeling I got was hatred for Maje for treating her like shit. I didn’t feel exactly motivated or didn’t respect her more….I just understood her more and pitied her too.

I really want to read this book sha. I saw some more excerpts on Twitter. Apparently, she saw Maje and Anita together at Barcelos one day when he lied to her that he was with his dad. Then she went to sit with them. That part made me laugh out loud. Later, she asked him about it and he said she’s the wife, Anita is the girlfriend and she should act like the wife. I was like wawuuuuu. Age is truly not maturity. I thank God for her life now. I pray she makes a lot of money from this.

Well it is circle, a circle of life.Hurting people hurt others and then the circle continues. A woman/man is heartbroken she/he decides to deal ruthlessly with the next guy/girl, she/he ends up creating another monster and the circle continues. Someone needs to put a stop to the circle, heal properly and stop the hurt from spreading.

Woooow!! I started reading this books last night and couldn’t put it down until I finished two hours later. Within that time I went through a plethora of emotions. Fear, shock, tears, joy, empowerment, self doubt, fear again, faith, and then more tears, finally strength.
Toke, reading details of your relationship with Maje, felt like I was reading a memoir about myself. The things, we women have to deal will; emotional abuse and torture. I have learned that emotional and verbal abuse will hurt and scar a person longer and deeper than physical abuse (I don’t condone it either).
I think every woman has to read this story. Whether you are in a relationship or not. For those who doubt her story, Toke, went deep in her narration of events!! I could literally feel her emotions as she wrote the book. There are certain parts i can bet she wrote in tears. The Lord is your strength my dear. I could tell your healing process isn’t yet complete. But you will pull through IJN. ? Ohhhh and for you made all this up, then you are the sickest pathological liar I know (I don’t think so, though). Maje definitely has his own side of the story, but I still think you were honest with your’s.

      November 28, 2016 at 11:14 pm

Pure bs. Maje was a prize to her so she had to win. He had some pedigree she needed to rub off on her low self esteem so she was ready to take whatever. Why he married Toke who he did not love or even like is beyond me. Watching a sex tape of your bf with a girl you know he has feelings for and you want us to pity you. Everything from their forced marriage to her reaction when she discovered he was having a child with Anita just reeks of sociopathic self indulgence. This book is at best a satire on the desperation of the Nigerian female.

@ Fifi you are exactly right. They are laughing at her. You can’t be a social climber (not a bad thing at all) and then show ALL your weaknesses to those you zoomed past up the ladder. And we know how viciously jealous our women can be. This is fame at a high price.

Mehn, this bleaching of a thing has aged Toke by almost 10 years. Away from the photoshopped face and skin, this picture at the top wasn’t edited enough and you can see the side effects showing glaringly. Madam, the Anita that you said inspired this your bleaching, is even a very simple girl that looks very much younger than her age, even after one. I am not comparing ooooo but using this as a cautionary tale for women who bleach or alter their appearance for a man. When you start on that slippery slope, it will only go downhill from there in many other areas.
I wish she had written this book after she has settled down (don’t say what if she doesn’t want to to settle down. big fat lie) with children and a happy family life with a badass business empire. She quickly capitalised on making money for now. Short signtedness. Imagine being at Mo Abudu’s age, built an media empire, a boss lady recognised by Forbes, our own Oprah with talk shows, international (not local champion) exposure, then write a book about your struggles, growth, building a business, overcoming all odds kini kan kini kan. I swear it would reach new york times best seller. THAT is the story people will want to read. Not surviving a bad relationship that you walked into eyes open. Nigerian women sha. Everything must be man, man, man, man.

Not just rush tow rite book to spite an ex and his mistress abi co wife. It would have been so much more. All this faith, strength, kini kan kini kan. Abeg madam shift. Onkoo Seyi Kuye, don’t worry, we await part 2 of the book on your own story, because you too you get k-leg. A baby mama already in the wings (Toke, if you like, deny that one too). Toke sure knows how to pick them. We await Post Becaming in a few years time.

Is this memoir not too early, will it be a memoir for every heart ache and bad romance? What age is the best to write a memoir? 30’s, 40’s, 50’s and beyond? The media is all out slandering Toke that this book is aimed at her ex-husband. Will this book give her new lover second thoughts?

I really do think her publishers will be the ones laughing all the way to the bank, using Toke as a money-spinner because of her fame. In my opinion, I think her memoir was just damn too early and a good boost to Christmas awareness.

My dear the time to seize the moment is now! People like u are living in so much fear that u stay stagnant. People like u make excuses. Dont project that on to others. As u can see its barely been a week and the book has received so much hype and selling like hot cakes- try to be happy for others even if it may be hard for u, then maybe doors will start to open. People like u can learn a lot from Toke’s zeal and drive, time waits for no man.

Lol how shallow? Some of us don’t look to Pastors alone or any human for that matter. We look to God! I’ve gone through stuff in my life and held on to the promise of Psalm32:8 and I’ve not needed people to tell me how to solve my problems. There are times when God has used people but I’ve always seen His hand. Be there following a socialite whose solutions to problems have been unbiblical. Look to the women of the Bible and you’ll find solutions! Look at God’s word and you’ll find direction when there are obstacles. Look to the God who parted the Red Sea and made a way in the wilderness.
That’s why a lot of people find it difficult to be successful. Looking in the wrong places. money is the only definition of success. It doesn’t matter how the person made their money as long as they did it.
Ive known and seen successful people. They’re not popular but they don’t need to toot their horns to show that they’re successful. There is a Godly way to make money but most of y’all don’t want to know. It’s celebs that you look to. There are so many honest people around you, you don’t ask them Aunty, Uncle what can I do to be like you? How do I improve on myself? What kind of courses can I take? If it’s an apprenticeship who is the best person I can learn from?
It’s people who gossip for a living or buy expensive clothes or use worldly mentality that are the models. and most of you go to church… people who are in touch with God (have a close relationship with Him) know the real deal when they see it.

    • Bey

      November 28, 2016 at 7:37 pm

I’m not understanding this your epistle.
You dealt with your adversaries the way for deemed fit.
Toke is dealing with hers the way she deems fit.
Perhaps the book is like therapy to her. I use to journal when I was in uni, it was my way to deal with anything I was going through.
People grieve or mourn the collapse of a marriage differently. Some need therapy in any form for the rest of their lives. Some just need a good old cry, and some put down their pain.
I believe this is what Toke is trying to do, albeit she’s making money from it. Which I personally find genius.

      November 28, 2016 at 8:15 pm

Point is… I would support a book that would teach people an exemplary way to handle matters. Especially for someone like her who claims to be all about God and God did this and that. The manner in which she is going about it is not Godly. No matter how much you try to spin this. There is gossip, backbiting, involved. what were her intentions behind writing this book? Did it come from a place of love, anger or wanting to truly help others? Or just purely for fame purposes? If it’s helping others is this an exemplary way to do things and does it exhibit the values of Jesus that she claims to follow. as I said in a previous comment on a different article. the right way to go about it is ‘vengeance is mine saith the Lord, I will recompense’. That’s my point. Tired of all the pretentious nonsense this website and other people are doing to promote this saga plus all the ‘sheeplery’ going on here with people talking as though she is the worthy example to emulate. If you’re a Christian and want to truly heal, pick up your Bible and read it and pray on it, not some book from Toke. This applies to everyone who is a Christian. We glorify too much nonsense in Nigeria. Not just in Naij but in the world. If fame and fortune is your way of doing things and you like the shallow way of doing things in life then my post is not for you. In the end ‘what shall it profit a man if he gain the whole world and lose his soul’. Relevance is not always a good thing. There’s are good way to be relevant and a bad way to be.

I dont know Maje and I dont know Anita – and i care less to know about Toke
All i k now is there is her side, his side and the truth. This book was not necessary
I dont respect Toke cos i think she is an attention seeking mentally unstable narcissist who is all about money and fame and everything else is secondary. No wonder Maje did not stay.

“”Maje will not cum inside of me. Maje gave me STD, “”

How disgusting and vindictive can you be Toke. So all that you said is suppose to help who exactly.

There are millions of nigerian women and women who have been thru worse than you did, triple worse, they did not go writing book. Who did book epp. Stephanie Okereke went thru a lot of shit with her ex and hell and back – almost closed to death in a car accident that same year, she didnt write a book – till this day she didnt utter a word to press. She left it to God and God blessed her immensely with a good man and THE BEST WEDDING iN NIGERIA CELEBRITY HISTORY. Her story and her testimony (while not broadcasting to the world) inspires me a million times more than yours Toke.

The only book that can help anyone is not some book by this narcissist mentally unstable chick but THE HOLY BIBLE, Meanwhile she will be forming counselor with her youtube vlogs giving relationship advice yet yours was so shitty you earned a Phd in it.

You are mean and vindictive Toke – like most Yoruba ladies always crying foul for relationship gone bad (Toke, Tiwa, Toyin etc etc) – You need mental help. Men have broken my heart plenty but i will never lay so low to write a book about it. Anita did not do you wrong, neither did that innocent lil baby boy WHO IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN THIS EQUATION. You are lucky you are in nigeria where the law never works cos if you were in America and wrote this book Anita could sue the shit out of you for even mentioning her name. You are very stupid Toke. Whoever advised you did not advice you well.

You were the side chick to Anita not the other way round.. I respect Anita for staying calm and collective and not uttering a word. and i advice she and Maje stay that way and not utter any word . If any asshole ask you to respond simply say to the

IN EVERY STORY THERE IS HER SIDE HIS SIDE AND THE TRUTH, FOR NOW, I JUST LEAVE “”SAINT TOKE” TO GOD, one day the whole truth will come out and i will not be the one to tell it. God will exonerate me. Good luck to that girl. Go ahead make as much change as you want as that is your goal.

Maje and Anita Take care of your precious son and protect him well. This girl Toke wants to destroy you and she is not finished. Dont say one bad thing about her ever (as you havent and for tha i am proud of you) .Leave her for God. Psalm 35 her ass and dont give her the satisfaction by responding. She disrespected not just the Maje, Anita, their precious child but the whole Ayida family.

Good Luck to Perfect Saint Toke Makinwa.- holy saint of life.

And to all her clit sucking voltrons, abeg shift. I dont have your time.

honestly BellaNaija you can choose to post it or not. I dont care. Continue with your bias behaviour.

Whenever I see Toke I don’t see a victim I see someone who knew what was going on but decides to put her head in it….we all pay for the consequences of our actions.
secondly I don’t see a woman who has been broken I see someone who wants to use a negative opportunity for fame and fortune.
thirdly I don’t see a strong woman but a low self-esteemed and low self-confident woman who has a low opinion of her self a.k. a *weak ass*
finally I don’t see a woman who is fit to advice anyone on relationship on even in life as general because everything she is asking people to believe in or do she didn’t.
hence this book I don’t see it as a must tell but revenge or vengeance on her part. This is the definition of Hell hath no fury

True repentance and change is the only way out.

We are not fair at all to dis lady who has just decided to come out and tell the truth whilst admiting her imperfections and weaknesses in the process . If we continue to lash out at people in this manner we will scare more from telling us their story . She is got publicity allready and she is a bit comfortable . Someone , somewhere and somehow may be inspired by tokes struggles . He who has no sin should please cast the first stone . Lets just encourage her and correct her where and when possible not abuse and curse lastly i advice you read the book first so your criticism can be constructive !thank you

I checked out the lady Anitas page, if Maje was my brother ill want her as my sister in law too. Very simple beautiful girl.. Goes to show going thru metamorphosis daily putting on pounds and pounds of makeup and Brazilian weave and red bottom shoes and posing on social media 24/7 and going as far showing tits in see thru shirt and all don’t epp no body. It doesn’t make you get selected. Wedding or no wedding , Anita was his favorite choice Ayida family advised their son well.

Toke has shot herself in the foot on this one. Millions of women on planet every one has gone thru relationship problem no one wrote a book crying foul and mentioned names. I heard another man is dating the narcissist now , dude you better run now. Run fast.

Anita stay classy and quiet u don’t have to say a word as someone suggested. Good idea. Just stay quiet, we all know she used reverse psychology and guilt trip to make maje give her that sudden proposal and wedding when you were already pregnant for him.

Most of us can see Toke s bullshit. Don’t mind her or all her voltrons. They don’t have a life so they live vicariously thru her fakeness nd vainess on social media. All this huge event to launch a book bashing your ex. Na WA ohh. It’s like almighty Toke Is descending from clouds with a tell all. Her broken heart is oh so unique belongs in guiness book of records

Anita take care of your precious diamond God blessed you with, your son.

Please for the people that are buying/reading this book in this time of recession, kindly share with those of us that will not be buying top lessons learnt from it and how much value it would add to your life. I would rather buy Arese’s smart money book than this.

Also I believe this girl felt hurt and deserves to share her story however she wants to but I am not sure the message she wants to pass across yet with all the CONFLICTING messages she sends through her vlog and instagram posts. Yesterday she was saying sow your wild oats. Today it is a tell all book. Tomorrow she is a Jesus girl. Next tomorrow she is almost naked. CONFUSED.COM!

When this issue of a scandal arose almost 2 years ago, I didn’t know who either of them were (Toke, Maje and Anita). I looked them up. I supported Toke. When I searched for Anita I expected to see a wild child who always post nude or semi-nude pictures. I was surprised by the what I saw of Anita. A simple girl who was just living her life. I tried to compare her to Toke and Toke to be seems like over the top, my perception of her was fake. What I’m even regretting was siding for the stupid dumb bitch Toke. The contrast between Anita and Toke is so clear. The questions should be with all the make up, smokes and mirror he chose a simple girl over your wild ass. Please my people they say body language never lies, all the pics I have seen of Toke and Maje she looks clingy and desperate. Abeg Toke should go and sit her ass down. Saint Toke who have never done wrong I’m sure if Maje and Anita should open up, we will know the truth about you. The more I see this book the more I’m becoming team Maje and Anita. Saint Toke should keep deceiving you people. What even annoys me most is keep calling God’s name in this abomination called a book. God does not support things like this Saint Toke. Jennifer aniston was cheated on, Sandra bullock, Princess diana. Stephanie Okereke, Monalisa Chinda was a victim of domestic violence you didn’t see this women writing books even Annie Idibia endured her own from tuface she didn’t go about bashing tuface. Abeg go and sit down dumb as fool

so based on all the controversy surrounding the book, I bought and read it yesterday. Is a good book?? it depends on what you are looking for. if you are looking for the “gossip” surrounding the Maje, Toke and Anita story, then you get the real deal. I was left frustrated at the number of times Toke had to go back to Maje after his seemingly countless transgressions….this left me a bit confused because Mehnnnn, I mean there is cheating and there is cheaaaating and this fella had the writing on the wall from the beginning. Ladies marriage to a serial womanizer does not change him, if anything at all, it makes it worse because he feels he has given you the ultimate price “the ring” it is only the grace of God that changes such a mentality. I am married and yes have had an issue with the dear husband regarding unfaithfulness….Though it has been some years and there are moments I still remember and cry, his actions thereafter has slowly taught me its an indiscretion he regretted as things have never the same after. with that being said, I wish there was more to this book than a narration of failed marriage. Who are we to decide whether it was a good time to write a book or not? Her life is so public so I guess that is the measure she had to take. I do hope in about 5 years from now, she writes a sequel detailing the steps she actually took to heal and finding happiness again. I wish her all the best

    It’s good to school abroad.

I schooled abroad. I don’t have a job. I don’t come from a wealthy family. I don’t have a privileged background boyfriend. You know the bonus that comes with schooling abroad.

So – sometimes, it is better to school in Nigeria. I don’t have a British Private Education.

I think Lagos people are enamoured with schooling abroad, having the accent, and having a privileged background boyfriend, which works for them.

I grew up in Enugu. We try.

I really commend Toke for this book. There are some things she disclosed that I can’t even tell my best friend. I think there is a conspiracy of silence amongst we females that makes it so difficult for us to tell our stories. You see intelligent career women going through DV and refusing to come out of it because they are ashamed. They’d rather remain there and face whatever is being thrown at them.
The most disheartening thing is that these same women would be at the forefront bashing anyone brave enough to tell their stories
We women are our own worst enemies!

    November 29, 2016 at 11:56 am

Seriously, its sad the way women take advantage of situation to draw sympathy. I understand Maje hurt you in your marriage but you are no saint either. Why cant women just share some responsibility. Your marriage failed, yes, we know, so move on! Why raise a campaign against your ex husband? why drag his name and make money out of it? We all go through pain, deal with your pain and respect your ex partner. Going about saying negative things just to gather sympathy is not needed.
All she said were about how Maje hurt her, you never mentioned your errors in the marriage, like you are saint. You turned your failed marriage into a money making opportunity for sympathy and the world should see a woman without faults.
You married him after seeing the signs before marriage, now you are complaining and Maje is the Devil. Not cool, Not just cool.
We all should take responsibilties. No one is perfect. Its sad the way your marriage ended Toke, but cashing out on it aint cool.

Na wa for Nigerians and their love for gossip and other peoples business and FAD….
When was the last time you all read a BOOK an educative or impact driven or spiritual book ??? (really not magazine ooo) but when it comes to amebo una go begin read….
before you know it someone else will publish a book.
The lady in question is cashing in from you guys!!! continue to make it rain on her but have you thought about making space for rain to pour on you?
Cashing in on your failed marriage is not good for you or your future .
its good for your pocket though.(if you love money)
Your future and present relationships including friends ,partner and family will always have that at the back of their minds that you can do this to them also.
Life happens but we leave God to fight and end our battles we will come out winners.
Karma is the baddest, Silent killer ,revenger of the innocent the sweetest.

This book is well written; it would ignite in other women an energy to pursue their purpose. Letting them know that marriage completes no one. Many women out there go thru a lot but the society would never let them express themselves. God is faithful through it all.

  78. CordonBlu

    November 30, 2016 at 4:28 pm

So much decay going on here. And I am not referring to the lady who wrote the book. So she put herself out there and made herself a target for so much verbal (in this case written) vomit. Do you really think that offering the sorry contents of your judgemental souls is okay because ‘she asked for it’? Where is the sense of responsibility for the words you speak? I reckon none of you on here is without a past. And I know nobody who has never made mistakes in their past, or would make mistakes in their present or future. What makes you think you can come on here and judge? Oh, wait! It’s an online platform! Makes sense. Nobody can put a face to you.

I know what having to deal with low self esteem feels like….and if you are being honest with yourself, so do you. We deal with our issues the best way we know how…with or without the approval of your royal nastiness. May not be the best way but we live and learn, don’t we all? Heck , some people live and never learn. But that is their responsibility.

Ease up on all the bile, people. There are other more wholesome ways to feel better about yourselves.

so i read 2 of the books reviews online today since ( since i am not gullible or foolish to buying books of such), and both reviews state that Toke mentions Maje 378 times and mentions about her career and how she grew it only twice. Whao power of the big dick huh 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 and some of oyall are saying the book is NOT about dude? Hmm ok.

I think she should make as much money as she can , the economy is hard, abi. So if folks are willing to throw their money away – why not. After all bella , ,sdk and linda are all milking this juicy gist .

I am no team nothing. Because i choose to hear all three sides first.

My own did not even reach marriage and I think I only just recently stopped swearing for the guy after about 20 years. The shekpe-ing was like a daily affair. Thank God for deliverance and realization that God gave me a wonderful husband after all so why focus on a fool and be caught up in such negativity. The guy dug the ground up and put my self-esteem 100 feet under, come place rock on top am, then tied it with padlock and rope sef. It is a very dangerous thing to have a manipulative boyfriend, husband, partner, etc. I will likely buy the book because I am curious for details…period! Perhaps writing the book was an outlet for her and as someone said, she is still healing.

The useless guy I dated and myself now happen to be in the same profession and I cannot wait for the day we will both be at a CE or conference or something. Not that I will say anything oh, I will just waka pass, but him sef will know say levels don change! Please note: I did not go into the profession because of him oh. God forbid! I didn’t even think about it until I graduated.

Some of you heffas ain’t read even one whole chapter of the Bible this month, yet you shell out money to buy this trash.

Even if u pay me sef I won’t buy that shit. I should give my hard earned money to this narcissist? Indeed. Yall with no lives living vicariously thru this thing who supposedly raised in a Christian home yet been fcking since her teenage years (that marriage was Cursed before it begun) and will be calling God and Jesus at the same time She can make a billion dollars, that still does not increase her sense of worth. What I see is a weak mentally unstable attention seek narcissist whose goal in life is nothing but fame.

She’s a disgrace to our people.

Maje and Anita are so classy for remaining quiet. I respect them more.! Maje could say a lot about Tokes wrong doings too cos yall know she ain’t no Saint. But he is too mature to do that. Reviews say she mention Maje 378 times in the book and all his sins and flaws and almost no flaw of Toke cos she is Saint Toke, and mentions how she rose in her OAP career maybe twice. And yall sit there to say the book has only one chapter of Maje so it’s not about him, yes it may be one chapter but be honest this is all about him . Yes it is about him. Stop kissing Tokes ass.

I read the book and I really feel for Toke. Inasmuch as she was stupid and silly, and allowed her desperation to get the better of her (and I expected much more given her exposure), MAJE CHEATED ON HER. Nobody, no matter how messed up they are, deserves to have the person they have exchanged vows with, cheat on them in private and humiliate them in public like that. If this book is what she needs to move on, then so be it.

As for Toke – i will be very surprised if someone wifes her in future after all this unwarranted revelatioin in a book. She should marry her red bottom shoes.

I just read the book. I can’t say i was a serious Toke fan but I admire her dress sense and comportment. That said, people you need to read the book. Forget people’s interpretation of the book and read it objectively then make up your mind about the book and why she felt she had to write it.
Anyone who has been through any sort of pain can relate to this book. Be it people ganging up against you, relationship issues, trust issues e.t.c. This is her version of events and it may not necessarily be 100% truth but it’s her raw emotion poured out and told in her words when she felt ready to talk about her life so far. She answered questions many people had then about how she was coping and how she dealt/ still dealing with it.
Kudos Toke, not many can do this. Your strength is admirable
