Indications have emerged that the Federal government may have to exhume the body of a deceased Corps member, Ifedolapo Oladepo, who passed during the 2016 Batch ‘B’ Orientation exercise.

She died at Gwoza General Hospital, Kano from after she fell ill in camp. The family claimed that she was neglected and was transferred to the hospital when it was too late.

The NYSC, however, said that they gave the deceased all the care she needed and transferred her when things got worse.

The Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Solomon Dalung gave the indication while speaking with State House Correspondents on Thursday.

“The report given by NYSC is normal and natural, that after investigation they must present their own report on what has happened but in view of the fact that they are many versions on what led to the death of the NYSC member, it would be fair to look at another version of what happened to be sure of what actually transpired.

It doesn’t have to do with not trusting the process but gauge the report alongside other opinion.

Then we will now be able to tell Nigerians that this is the circumstances on how she died. “Don’t forget that the report of the NYSC has no autopsy and an independent investigation will require an autopsy and now the autopsy alongside the report will balance and it will fortify the conclusion the government will make,” he said.

I’m so pained by this. Can she be left alone to rest? exhume body for an autopsy after not responding to her immediately. Will the so called autopsy bring her back? No! Enough already Nigeria.

FG “MAY” exhume…. This matter will naturally die as others. I would advise the family to Continue to ignore the government so they don’t end up disappointed. Continue to Rest in peace, beautiful!

Na wa o! O di egwu. Can’t they let the girl rest in peace; that’s the least they can do after their blatant irresponsibility and carelessness.

    Let them exhume the body!
That’s the only way doctors in Nigeria will sit up. They hide under the traditional “let her rest in peace” while their errors are buried forever. She is already at peace. Her body will reveal answers needed.

Rest on dear one. And may God grant her family the fortitude to bear this enormous loss.

On another note, when are Buhari’s kids going for their own NYSC? I mean all three of them that their mother organized graduation party for? Or is NYSC not for those ones? Since we were informed they graduated and about the party, we should also hear they’ve been posted on national service. It’s possible all three are already ‘serving’ in Aso rock. We say scrap this deceitful scheme!

Yes, please do an autopsy. Why isn’t an autopsy the norm anyway?
