Audu Maikori Reportedly Rearrested & is Being Transported to Kaduna

Chocolate City President Audu Maikori has been re-arrested.

According to a series of tweets by his colleague Edward Israel-Ayide, he is being transported to Kaduna.

Recall that Audu was arrested over a story he published late January on the killing of five students of College of Education, Gidan-Waya, Kaduna. It turned out the story was false and he later published a retraction and issued an apology.

He was subsequently arrested on February 17 and was released on bail 24 hours later.

Governor Nasir El-Rufai had, during the just concluded Social Media Week, said that Audu will be prosecuted for spreading false stories capable of inciting retaliatory attacks in the ongoing crisis in Southern Kaduna.

Earlier this week, Audu collapsed during the Annual Conference of Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) at Shell Hall, Muson centre, Lagos.

It seems that there is more to this issue that the public does not know.

I swear, it is annoying how Naija doesn’t have investigative journalists. There is something here beyond what we’re reading. Ki lo pa won po (What did these two get involved in?). Something is fishy here.

El Rufai is a bigoted piece of garbage.

He is upset that Audu has ambition that is for all people, not just Fulanis (like El rufai himself)
El Rufai feels untouchable that’s why he’s doing this.
Who will prosecute him for saying what he did about the Fulanis????
He must be prosecuted for inciting violence oh!!! He must!!!

Please its time for everyone to go their separate ways. A white man came and drew a line around all of you and said you were a country, when none of you had and still have anything in common. Yorubaland should secede, the East and the North should follow suit. Doesn’t make sense to force all these people together, the fighting will never cease. Yoruba’s have nothing to fear, Lagos alone has an economy bigger than so many African countries, no need to keep hanging on to the North. At least if Yorubaland had borders, you wouldn’t be yielding your power all the way from the North to carry someone in the South without an extradition order.

There is nothing else to the issue, there is only El Rufai. The day the anticorruption storytellers who brought Bubu into power will decide to elect El Rufai to the presidency is the day the South and all his enemies begin the long journey to economic, political and spiritual oblivion. Vindictive man.

Hmmmm seems he has annoyed some very powerful people, it’s gonna be a battle between Justice and “bad power” BUT why did he not live the country after the first arrest eh? instead of making public appearances with pics on bellanaija eh. I pray for his family and his mental health.

I weep for Nigeria. ???? Like it’s no longer funny. Where are our human rights lawyers or are we all just going to sit back, comment and pour out eulogies when he’s no more?

    • Audu where are your friends?

      March 10, 2017 at 8:29 pm

Human rights ko! Human rights ni! Where do you think you are? This is Nigeria, where any rich man with a connect can take you down. I’ve seen it happen so many times. An abuse of the law, lying on police statements, guilty until proven innocent. The worst thing is as long as money has changed hands, the police and authorities will play along with the paying party, so you better have some deep pockets and influential friends to fight the power. Audu should start making a few phonecalls. This is a country where 200 girls disappeared and they told you it was propaganda. It is little Audu that you want to save?

One day, Abacha “the untouchable”, died without his own expectation.

I am confident in God that there is still space in the grave & my knees will not tire in prayers for every evil, unrepentant & malignant individual who now considers themselves as gods over Nigeria, to be snuffed out in the same sudden way.

You, El Rufai. a mere mortal…. have decided you will rule with terror over us? An ordinary breathing man, that cannot even predict life’s events in the next 60secs? May your end shock you to your very soul.

I have mixed feelings about this. First of all Audu is a very manipulative, duplicitous person – if you have done business with him you would know. and so I am almost certain that his Southern Kaduna campaign were for some personal benefit and not about freedom. In the same vein there is the very unsavoury character in El-Rufai who also seems to have vested interests and ulterior motives in this whole episode. I would rather sit on the fence than speak from an ‘excited’ perspective.

  17. I am worried

    March 10, 2017 at 6:30 pm

I am worried for this man’s life o. Is there anyone in power that can help him? No human rights, no due process in Nigeria. Very sad.

So just because some people are perceived as more powerful, gives them the right to oppress the supposed ordinary citizen?!I care less for his crime…take away the mantle of power and we all are ordinary. This country is fucked!!

Someone said he should have run away. Eewo Nigeria, is this where you have got to? Run because Hausa/Fulani is on the prowl? Nigerians, forever will you be slaves to these obnoxious lot if you fail to move your people and lend your voices to the clamor to restructure this contraption we call a country.

I urge anyone and everyone on this platform that knows any activist, especially legal ones in this country to get up and across to them to urge them not to be silent at a time like this. Speak to any lawmaker you know, get on any media platform you can and if nothing else, agitate other minds to see that this is wrong.
Please don’t just type a comment here on ‘what a pity’ and think it suffices.

Enslavement of other Nigerians is being sustained by Hausa/Fulani because they control the armed forces. You can’t keep quiet.

Maybe because of frail Buhari’s return Sanusi and his unforgiving cabal feel emboldened to strike today. Shame!!!!!!!

This is the same El-Rufai that went to Harvard to study a masters in public administration within the last decade. He must have learned how to jail his critics there.

Audu Makori has not done anything wrong for him to be continuously harassed, arrested and intimidated by the security forces. The arresting authority should come out to either confirm or deny the truthfulness in his story. Nigeria belongs to all of us. We all have the responsibility to speak up against other Nigerians who deliberately commits atrocities against other Nigerians, as in the case of the Fulani herdsmen. Nigeria is a Democracy. He deserved to be heard. “His statements are all protected speech”. Release him immediately. A word is enough for the wise. I’m just saying.

He was warned by authorities that the story was false ! He still wemt ahead with it .You make inflammatory remarks in the middle of ethno – religious crises and when people get killed you will carry face and blame the governor. The Rwanda genocide was inflamed by careless talk like this. He should be prosecuted so people are check their facts before you start publicising falsehoods.

YOU HAVE BEEN BRAIN-WASHED BY ISLAMIC PROPAGANDA!

Recall El-Rufai’s 2012 tweet: “We will write this for all to read. Anyone, soldier or not that kills the Fulani takes a loan repayable one day no matter how long it takes.”

Fulanis killed about 800 in Southern Kaduna in imitation of Mohammed who in 627AD PERSONALLY killed about 800 Qurayza Jews in Mecca.

To all Muslims (including Buhari, Buratai, Bugaje etc) Prophet Mohammed is the finest example in all matters of morals and conduct. The Fulani-led Nigerian Police are simply following the Mohammedan ethos.

Biafrans are unequally yoked with these demonized people in ‘one Nigeria.’ That yoke must be broken. Amen!
