The Economics and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has expressed concerns over the circulation of fake Dollar notes ahead of this weekend’s presidential and national assembly elections.

A statement signed by the commission’s acting chairman, Ibrahim Magu stated that the agency was acting based on intelligence.

The EFCC said the fake Dollar notes in circulation may appear to be real, but when the commission put it through forensic analysis, it proved to be fake.

The commission urged bureau de change outlets all over the country to be cautious in their transactions until the end of the elections.
