Since then, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, as well as Baba Suwe’s colleagues in the industry, have rallied around him to support him. VP Osinbajo donated ₦1,000,000 to the ailing actor.

Now, Baba Suwe, joined by some of his colleagues, has had a meeting with Nigeria’s Minister of Health Isaac Adewole. While the purpose and outcome of the meeting haven’t been fully revealed, the conversation about how to further assist Baba Suwe with his medical condition was explored.

It is still early in the morning, so I am putting on my “kind cap.”

Please dear Minister, fight for more allocations for your sector and fix/ start fixing our healthcare system. Nollywood, please think carefully about health insurance schemes.

So, instead of investing money in healthcare generally, these elected officials prefer to do the photo-op rounds where they are seen as being magnanimous to ONE citizen who is in the public spotlight.

At some point there needs to be a revolution in this country because this madness cannot continue.

Sad to hear that Baba Suwe is sick but he is one of millions of citizens who do not have access to healthcare. It is appalling and dismal that the Minister of Health did this. There are no flowers to be handed out for performative service.

    Take several seats, Sir.
