BET’s Black Girls Rock held on Saturday night (March 28) at NJPAC Prudential Hall in Newark, New Jersey, and it was quite the event as a number of successful and inspiring black women came together for a worthy cause.
‘Black Girls Rock’ is a global women’s empowerment movement and a nonprofit mentoring organization and the event last night was attended by Michelle Obama, Erykah Badu, Janelle Monae, Fantasia, Jill Scott, Ciara, Kat Graham, Ava DuVernay, Bridget Kelly, Jada Pinkett Smith, Jun Ambrose, Faith Evans, MC Lyte, Lil Mama, Willow Smith, Estelle, Debra Lee, Lola Ogunnaike and many more inspiring women.
The event was hosted by Hollywood actresses Regina King and Tracee Ellis Ross.
The ‘Black Girls Rock’ event will be shown on BET on Sunday, April 5, 2015.
