Nigerian superstar Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has just stepped things up a notch! Omotola was in South Africa a few weeks ago (during the World Cup) and she shot the second video off her sophomore album which is tentatively titled ‘Me, Myself and Eyes‘.

The video is for the song ‘Missing U‘ and was shot by renowned Nigerian music video director, Bobby Boulders.

‘Missing U’ is an emotional song and tells the story of a partner who disappeared without any explanation. Omotola’s “runaway love” was played by South African male model Chris Du Plessis, who recently won the Heat Magazine “Six Pack of 2010″ Award!

There were mixed reactions to Omotola’s debut album but she has taken all the feedback and applied it to this album which promises to be catchy and entertaining with lots of music that listeners can dance to, relate to and singalong to. Omotola is working with Bigsam Media, a Lagos based publicity company and Now Muzik, a management company to help retool and lay claim to a bigger stake in the music industry.

Omotola will host selected guests and friend to an exclusive album listening party on the 24th of September 2010 while on the 26th of September at Fantasy Land in Lagos, a special listening party will be take place for Omotola fans. She will also be flagging off her ‘Give and Let Get’ project, a charity project which will provide platform where her friends and fans can donate gifts which will be distributed to various orphanages.

Judging by these photos, the video is going to be a hot one. We love the emotions that Omotola is conveying with her eyes! Can’t wait! In addition, its great that she is pursuing her passion for music, its commendable that she is acknowledging fan feedback and putting out a better product this time. The video will debut exclusively on BellaNaija.com in a few days. Also, check out Omotola in her new movie “Ije – The Journey” – the movie hits Nigerian cinemas this weekend.

    • fatounettesenegirlchic July 30, 2010 at 5:34 PM

I love it and also love the fact that she is a fighter. it’s interesting how she
took all the feedback (both neg and positive) to repackage herself. Although i
am not a music person i can’t wait for it. I like it when people know what they want
and work hard to get. It’s not easy.

off topics: What’s wrong with using a white guy. for the life of me i don’t
understand why we Africans are so focused on skin color. I mean i see it
everywhere, here, youtube, facebook, things like ” ooh people think
she’s all that just cause she’s light skin ” or some equally ridiculous
comments. any way my people let’s learn to see people first and what
they bring in our life before their skin color. mercie beaucoup.

    • lagosbabez July 30, 2010 at 5:54 PM

ooooh mehn i cant wait for this video..everything looks flawless..skin on point hair and makeup….yepa pls bellanaija be the first to premiere this video jo ooo

    • deegal July 30, 2010 at 5:54 PM

Yeah she’s very beautiful but the video looks very cliche

    • look@me July 30, 2010 at 6:00 PM

I am not a fan of this but i must say we could try and respect each others game abeg…did Beyonce not copyright somebody? How we ourselves live life too is copyright from something or someone or somewhere,if you see anyone who has originality, please share.

    • Blessed July 30, 2010 at 6:34 PM

OmoSexy, i like your fighting spirit . . . Others would have crawled under the rug but you’re determined and i’m sure you’ll achieve your goals(That is,if you haven’t achieved it already) as one of the most prominent musicians in Naija and beyond!

Oh, less i forget, You are more than sexy, more than beautiful! All hail OmoFierce!!!!!

    • Bimbo July 30, 2010 at 6:55 PM

Girl keep ya day job – please do. I will pay u extra to keep ya day job and leave music alone.

    • tola July 30, 2010 at 7:01 PM

omotola need to STOP THE MADNESS.. what nonsense.. she dont have a voice .she is always on Auto tune .. when will these so called celebs learn / her strengths are in her looks and acting but definitely not in her voice.. she needs to start thinkin like a married woman with children!

    • Blessed July 30, 2010 at 7:05 PM

Pleade does anyone know who sang the song Jealousy, jealousy, jealousy is the root of evil? OmoSexy, i would like you to do a remix of that song!

    • floria July 30, 2010 at 7:18 PM

first thing i thought….. OMG dd she really kiss that guy?

    • Touche July 30, 2010 at 7:24 PM

Some people(haters) haven’t heard the song, yet they’re criticizing…That’s how you recognize a hater LMAO

    • Touche July 30, 2010 at 7:26 PM

Atleast, wait till you hear the song before criticizing…besides even some of the illest musicians in the music industry USE autotune…hehehehe…Bad belle…

    • Touche July 30, 2010 at 7:28 PM

Abeg cut the lady some slack, besides who said she’s dumped acting…Her movie IJE is showing at the Silverbird Cineme Lagos tomorrow! If you don’t like her music, step aside, is she forcing you toattend her concerts or buy her albums…ish!

    • Touche July 30, 2010 at 7:32 PM

Britney, the Queen of lipsyncs(not even mentioning autotunes) gets all her concert seats sold out! Think about that!
OmoSexy may not be the best singer out thwere right now, but hey, Rome was not built in a day. Give her a break! Damn!

    • KemiPen July 30, 2010 at 8:01 PM

“Why the white guy?”…if he was ‘black’ then pipo will suspect her of having an affair. Then if he is white, her choice is questioned. Abeg if she decides to have the ‘United Nation’ team in her vid…it is Omosexy’s choice…

    • moi July 30, 2010 at 8:27 PM

U guys should leave her alone, why dont u raise an eyebrow when male artiste
use white girls too…so it isnt anything new……as 4 d song, I comment my reserve
till I see am until then…….pseeewwwchhhhh.

    • Ijeoma July 31, 2010 at 3:31 AM

Well… I wish her good luck on this new venture from the bottom of my heart because that first song… I was very afraid…
@ Blessed, Evi Edna Ogholi sang that, lol. I don’t know if your question was rhetorical but the first sentence was so fantastically random that I had to comment

    • neki July 31, 2010 at 8:08 AM

    • THE AMAKA July 31, 2010 at 7:06 PM

we all know Omotola cannot sing and she is not doing a good job at faking it either.
      i agree with @deegal
it looks so cliche, same old, samd old.
      she should stick to acting.

    • Truth July 31, 2010 at 7:46 PM

Omo-T is busy laughing at her haters…Ntongi!

    • gbeborun August 1, 2010 at 12:38 AM

At the end of the day Omotola CAN’T sing all sentiments aside.

    • Angel August 1, 2010 at 2:50 AM

Omo Sexy CAN sing! Period! Yes, she’s no Maria Carey, but she CAN sing! End of discussion! End of hating!

    • gbeborun August 1, 2010 at 11:26 AM

Am a big fan of Omotola and she’s a brilliant actress from the days of Mortal inheritance she should stick to what she is good at. Even Mariah Carey struggled with her last album but you can forgive her because she has had very good and successful albums before, just ask yourself would u buy omotola’s album?

    • gbeborun August 1, 2010 at 11:28 AM

The people who really love you will tell you the truth even if it bursts your bubble

    • Angel August 1, 2010 at 5:38 PM

How are we supposed to know if we would buy her album when we haven’t even heard her songs…We’ll let you know about that, as soon as the album drops, just excercise patience…Thanx

    • Angel August 1, 2010 at 5:49 PM

If Maria Carey, one of the greatest voices, according to you, struggled to sell her albums, then why criticizing Omo-T, whose album hasn’t even been released?
Don’t forget Maria Carey has been singing for decades. Omo-T loves music with passion and she’s following her dreams, why not let her be or atleast give her constructive criticism? There’s nobody with a perfect voice, if you read the biographies of the greatest singers, you would have noticed they ALL took singing lessons and some of them still do. It is called building on your talent! if you love something so much, and you’re not perfect in it but atleast has the base, you CAN always build on it. there’s no profession where you don’t have to do your part. That is why there are singing classes, which is meant for those who want to perfect their voices and not for those who are already PERFECT!

So, leave Omo-T to pursue her dreams, it’s not too hard to ignore her, is it?

    • Angel August 1, 2010 at 5:54 PM

Even the likes of Tuface and co all started from somewhere, if you listened to their old songs, you would notice they have grown VOCALY. And most of these singers like Beyonce, Maria Carey have been singing since they were 5 years old, you can’t compare them to someone just starting in her early thirties. Not every body can become a great singer over night it takes time.

All i’m saying is give Omotola time to grow, VOCALLY!

    • Angel August 1, 2010 at 6:06 PM

      1. Check out Tuface’s humble beginning: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvvu4Dg0eUQ
      VS.
      2. Today http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kypBe6QX6ww

You notice the big vocal difference? That’s called vocal growth!

    • Angel August 1, 2010 at 6:31 PM

Check out the vocal difference on this track:

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18tW9MLKShU&feature=related

    • Ronnie August 1, 2010 at 6:50 PM

      Lol!…Angel must be Omotola’s P.A!lol
Ok, to be honest we SHOULD cut Omo T some slack because we all have desires to fulfill destiby and pursue our passion but how many really do?Anyone that actually does pursue their passion, even if they’re not great at it….should be applauded.Well done OmoT. E no easy!

    • bieber fever August 1, 2010 at 7:07 PM

girl uve lost it any how ur still cool…………………………………………………………………

    • avari August 1, 2010 at 8:29 PM

angel… singing is a talent… it is not a skill acquired after years!

    • Angel August 1, 2010 at 10:16 PM

      @Ronnie
Far from it, dearie…Far from it…Just saying my mind..That’s all!

    • Angel August 2, 2010 at 2:11 AM

      @avari

Never said singing was A SKILL…I said it is A TALENT that you, in most cases have to build on

    • Angel August 2, 2010 at 2:14 AM

Most people who learn a skill, learn from the scratch…
A talent, on the other hand, is something you sometimes have to build on…If there was no need to build on talents, in this case, musical talent, then, there would be no need for voice coaches!

    • deedoubleU August 2, 2010 at 10:07 AM

HAhaha ommmmmmmmmmmmooooosexy…you must sing o!..You must sing for us in this video oh..no autotune…but you must convince us that you’ve been gooing for vocal lessons and that this song will wow us..iBelieve…

    • adenike August 2, 2010 at 3:46 PM

The dude looks like Omotola’s husband had a gun pointed at him like ‘you hold her too close, imma gun you down’…… Can’t wait to listen to it tho;kinda like Feel alright, she tried in the video honestly…

    • elisa August 2, 2010 at 4:06 PM

I’ll pass on this one. Omot T, I love you, but don’t quit your day job.

    • Bola August 2, 2010 at 5:15 PM

which one is copyright again, wat is so unique about kissing a guy and playing a piano, those are expected romantic moves, there’s nothing to be copyrighted there.

As for Omo-t’s singing, last I heard she did NOT sound good, but I do respect her determination

    • Doll August 3, 2010 at 8:31 AM

LOL@ Angel, defender of the universe…
Anyways, the pictures are nice, wish her the very best

    • chi August 3, 2010 at 10:53 PM

there is always a second chance, we all know the first one was a flop, but there
is room for improvement. So lets all wish her luck

    • BKNY August 4, 2010 at 11:07 AM

omo T,lik ur determination…..love ur face..shape,carriage nd all dat….btw…im so stright

    • chinny August 4, 2010 at 12:59 PM

Damn dis woman 4 being soo beautiful….:)

    • Chacha August 4, 2010 at 8:03 PM

abeg free the woman, Even abroad they have platinum selling artists permanently on autotune.
Case in point, Lil Wayne and Tpain. The Nigerian Music scene is big enough for the next singer on permanent autotune

    • tana August 5, 2010 at 10:39 AM

if you cant sing, you cant sing..period!

    • tobi August 5, 2010 at 10:42 AM

she is fine, but singing is sooo not her thing, i see the way they muted her in IJE,
they were afraid shed spoil the whole thing hehehehehehe

    • Blackberry August 6, 2010 at 5:38 PM

Omotola has always been a fine woman and a good actress by Naija standards.
Thank God her era of blond hair is over, her new look is actually fresh, youthful and inspiring.
Don’t know about this singing business though, I actually rushed out to buy her first album but it was soo painful listening to her sing. I hope she has gone on some voice training and wont torture us anymore. Will definitely sit this one out and wait till it hits the airwaves make I no waste my hard earned money. Not a hater, actually like her BUT truth be told, from her previous album, she has no business singing not even in the shower.

    • mitchelle September 12, 2010 at 12:22 AM

This woman is nothing but a puppet who has sold out for money. The symbolism in this video and her website is soooo obvious. Check out photo no.3, the mirror thing, the butterflies on her website etc. You ain’t fooling anyone but yourself .
