MNet celebrates the launch of JARA – The Nollywood TV Show hosted by Uti Nwachukwu & Helen Paul

The profile of Nigeria’s movie industry – Nollywood keeps rising. Nollywood stars have millions of fans across the globe. The industry certainly deserves media support and there is a strong demand from fans for every single detail on the stars and their movies.
MNet’s Africa Magic Channel has produced its first-ever original series – JARA – “The flagship new series is packed with fun news and information, direct from the thriving heart of Africa’s busiest film hub. Screening to DStv audiences every Saturday evening in primetime (19.30 CAT), JARA is hosted by two of Nigeria’s hottest stars…popular and sociable Big Brother All Stars winner Uti Nwachukwu and sensational entertainment personality Helen Paul.“
On Sunday 27th February 2011 at the Genesis Deluxe Cinema in Lagos, MNet officially launched the show with a fun-filled event. Guests including Nollywood stars Desmond Elliot, Monalisa Chinda, Nse Ikpe Etim and Omoni Oboli enjoyed performances by Glo Naija Sings winner – Casey, Mo’Cheddah and Bez as well as jokes delivered by Koffi and Owen Gee. It was a dual celebration for MNet – the 1st year anniversary of Africa Magic Yoruba and Africa Magic Hausa Channels was also feted at the event.

MNET pls pay a stylist for her, what’s that weave on her head, it’ll give me nightmares! I’m sure Joseph Benjamin, Desmond Elliot, Uti and Chris Attoh were on the same queue when The Almighty was dishing out the good looks. As for Casey, whoever voted for that guy to win naija sings? get a hair cut bro and find a kind of style, you’re in the show biz for crying out loud; afro dread is not for everyone.
I know what Maye’s problem is, not that he didn’t iron his cloth, he adding too much weight and when you are fat your clothes get creases from different folds, trust me, i know that. Monalisa is adorable but i am yet to see one hair style that is beffiting of a celebrity on her. we need a fashion police in this country so that our celebs can sit up and do somfin abt their looks.

has anyone here seen the JARA show? its a bit of an embarassment to us – i tell u. i was shocked at the poor quality of presentations, etc. i wondered how they got sponsorship for it – now i get……… its MNET’s own. but seriously, u guys need to see that show. i stumbled on it one day, stayed tuned cos of UTI but was quite surprised at its poor direction, quality, etc. That show took Nigeria back several years………we don pass that stage, abeg…….anyway, nice pixs

A lot of folks are just chatting classic prattle in here. Helen Paul’s outfit tops it for me (hair could be better anyway). Next are Biola Alabi, Adora, Joseph and a handful of other folks. Nigerians generally have a warped mentality. Always comparing their shows to Academy Awards, Oscars, Grammys and what not. Y’all need to be told that what suits the American or English folks would not necessarily suit you. And I doubt that y’all look any better, always quick to judge everything harshly but lacking anything better themselves.
How could a right-thinking person say the Jara Show ain’t good enough? That’s one of the best shows on Africa Magic right now, much better than even Studio 53!
