Omawumi has just released the video for her track “If You Ask Me (Na Who I Go Ask)“. A short teaser of the video hit the internet a few weeks ago and now we get to see the video in its full glory.
The track was produced by Cobhams Asuquo and the video was directed by award-winning video director, Clarence Peters.
Check on it.

Is it the marriage ceremony that impregnates a woman?

LMBO! Good one!

Beautiful…would give Amy Winehouse a run for her money
Ooh, great outfits, colors and theme, and all that other fanciful, “ITK-ish” lingo
I sha like it, & I think she looks great! And of course I love the song. Yay Oma!

The door of success opens to those who push hardest

am i seein a baby bump??? is Omawumi pregnant?? Nice song
Fantastic., simply sublime. I love it.
tuuuuuuune! smart way to pass on a message..easier to remember what it’s about when the song is stuck in your head than if it was a meassage u heard in passing…
NA SWEET STORY OOO EHHE EHHE EEEE, WISH YOU SAVE DELIVERY IN ATLANTA.
Ok, the video is so on point and I love her message!
loooooove the video, very pretty!!!
Very nice song and video.. Good job dear
so the pregnancy rumors were true? well, wish her a happy and safe delivery.
the song is hott too, and can we please stop comparing her to gaga? this is talent, gaga is NOT. kapeesh?
May you live long for that statement. Pls tell them o. Gaga Schmaga. *Hiss*
Omawunmi. You are Awesome.
BUT….I’m sorry, but isn’t this EXACT copy of the background music for Amy Winehouse’s song
Always loved Omawunmi,always will.
I liked the song. I like this video. But putting the two together doesn’t work for me because somewhere at the end, where Oma, the girl and her mum started laughing and dancing…..they kinda lost me. I mean, is it not the girls’ father who got her pregnant? What’s the sing and dance about?
I daresay the direction lost focus at that point…not liking that part one bit!
very nice video..like the concept. However, this is a serious matter and i think the part of the mother, d child n Omawunmi dancing was a bit off, considering the messgae the song tries to pass across. It makes the matter seem like a joke, when it is nth close to that. But still, lovely video..been looking forward to it.
Love the video and the song. Omawumi and Tiwa are killing both their videos and physical packaging! LOL. Waje dey try but still needs work. But please, let me not even get started on L’Ami! i do however have two criticisms. the first is that the song sheds light on a very serious issue but the video is comical which is a little confusing. Secondly, they shoulda released a hi-res copy because such good production must be showcased in nothing less than HD. But all in all, good job Omawumi, well done!
P.s We need a channel on YouTube that will compile all hi quality Nigerian videos together just like Vevo. I know Vevo has NigeriaVevo but dat wan na Yankee, we need ours. LiberiaTV abi na music or whatever has already jumped on this initiative and is compiling our own music for us. *not good* The Nigerian Music Industry needs to take note of the importance of being in charge of their own texts and start their own Vevo (not with the name, but you get my drift sha).
Chipii, thats a good idea. why don’t u start it? who are u selling your idea to for free on BN?
i love this video and the message that the song sends, incestuous sexual abuse is becoming rampant in our society , i have no idea what is causing this but i do know keeping quiet is not the answer. this video inspired me to write an article about sexual abuse on my blog. check it out if you can.
i love Omawunmi by the way awesome video.
lovely vocals, nice song and the video is off the hook but one scene almost destroyed it and thats the part oma,the woman and child was dancing?what was that about?its suppose to be a musical message passed to parents and children alike and the topic at hand is serious so is there a way to scrap that scene please?but all in all nice work oma ur turning to our naija Jennifer Hudson or better still Tina Turner/Whitney Houston.Nice costume, choreography and video in all deserves an award.
i love! i love! i love … am closing my eyes to all the obvious criticisms of this video.. Yes, am blinded by love…
Me likey
Agree with most comments. Omawunmi’s voice is amazing (truly blessed!) and the tune is so catchy you almost forget she is singing about abuse. That said, although I love the concept of the video overall, the raped child and her mum dancing was out of place (maybe they should cut out that bit before it goes to TV – if it isn’t there already).
Omawumi, you blow me away, over and over and over again! Congrats on your incoming, and God’s blessings!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS VIDEO!! I JUST HAD TO LEAVE A COMMENT TO SHOW MY SUPPORT! GO OMAWUNMI.. YOU ARE AMAZINGGGGGGG

Nigerian nicki, she’s absolutely the besst of the best amongst the best of best is the best will still be thebest and the best of bestts
Fantastic vocals and all. But honestly I think its funkiness someehow takes away from the message. This tune is playing over and over in my head totally not in relation to what the song is about. That dancing at the end was just way out of place and belittled the issue of rape and incest. I just watched the video and from the dancing thought maybe I was a bit confused about what the video was about. I googled and came to this page.
That said, I’m sooooo impressed with naija musicians these days. The world had better watch out….
