Upcoming actor Joseph Benjamin is on his way to “leading man” status with the body of work he has delivered in 2011.

He starred alongside Genevieve Nnaji in “Tango With Me”, he is currently breaking Nigerian box office records with romance drama “Kiss & Tell” alongside Monalisa Chinda and now his new movie, “Mr & Mrs” is set for release.
In “Mr & Mrs”, Joseph Benjamin takes on the lead male role alongside Nse Ikpe Etim. Modern Nigerian Marriages are the focus of the movie.

According to HabeebLawal.com;

Mr & Mrs is a story of couples whose marriages are threatened by age old economic and social divisions in our society. Actor Joseph Benjamin whose profile has sky-rocketed since his role as Uzor Dike in ” Tango With Me” plays Kenneth who is ashamed of his wife’s (played by Nse Ikpe Etim) background and decides to keep her in the kitchen where he believes she belongs.

Meanwhile, another couple Linda and Charles played by the duo of Thelma Ojiji and Paul Apel seemingly have a perfect marriage until Linda begins to take her husband for granted because she takes care of all the bills in the home.

Mr and Mrs was produced by Chinwe Egwuagu and directed by Ikechuwku Onyeka and shot on the Canon 5D by DOP Tom Robson.

i’m sorry but nigerian trailers are just so boring. at least give us a brief insight with the trailer, not just taking a few scenes and joining them together. i’m not impressed. the acting looks good but the directing and the trailer does not appeal to me, and the cast is a bit repetitive and old for me. the trailer is too short and too bland. i get nothing from the trailer.come on nollywood u guys have to improve.

Mona mona mona… words cant describe how very gorgeous you are… beauty without exposure… truly classic.

    • johny July 25, 2011 at 6:09 PM

oh mehn..i love this girl. Nse

    • DivaliciousFlo July 25, 2011 at 6:17 PM

I love Nse because she has such a nice body and she’s such a great actress. But while she I think luks gorgeous in that gown, having no piece of jewelry on, certainly doesn’t do her justice especially because she’s the lady of the moment and all eyes are on her. Also, her fringe was poorly done and worsened by the lack of earrings since she decided to pull it back. Monalisa looks radiant and her dress is well worn. While Chioma’s extensions are beautiful,on days like days alittle more shine with some hair mist would have given her hair a lush appeal. Her makeup leaves little to be desired but she’s one actress that appears to be very unassuming and for that I like her.

    • loli July 25, 2011 at 6:59 PM

      Chioma seriously what’s with the mermaid hair: Ariel called and she wants her hair back;

      • Naveah July 26, 2011 at 8:45 PM

OH you are SO WRONG for that…Ariel called… LOL!!!

      • CutieToxie July 28, 2011 at 9:48 AM

        LMAO

    • TUTU July 25, 2011 at 7:20 PM

Nse looks great and so does Monalisa. But truth be told, Nse is NOT a believeable actress. She is too rigid and technical in her actions and speech. “SHE IS A METHOD ACTRESS”. That kind of technique is reserved for stage and tv sitcoms. Same goes for Joseph. I am never lost in their performances. I feel (for movies) one should ASSUME A CHARACTER AND NOT PRETEND TO BE IT.

      • Stico July 27, 2011 at 5:09 PM

Show us what u’ve done n we’ll pick it from there

      • partyrider July 27, 2011 at 6:11 PM

Nse is not believable?? i beg to differ…rigid..technical?? ok now..pls tell me a believable actress..

    • mee2 July 25, 2011 at 8:18 PM

nse is ma home girl. and she’s so eloquent when she speaks. one word- CLASS!

    • fenty4eva July 25, 2011 at 11:15 PM

gosh!! I luv Nse!!! she’s one of nollywood’s finest!!!

    • I am Legend July 26, 2011 at 12:34 AM

I think Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade- Ekeinde and Nse Ikpe Etim are the best New-Generation actresses Nigeria has to offer right now. Such prolific acting!

    • THE AMAKA July 26, 2011 at 4:59 AM

im tired of the same faces, next.

    • sandra July 26, 2011 at 9:10 AM

    • Zegzy July 26, 2011 at 6:49 PM

      Love Monalisa’s dress…too cute.

    • Uchechi July 26, 2011 at 8:38 PM

      I love Nse’s acting.

    • Naveah July 26, 2011 at 9:10 PM

@ Tutu – I don’t know where you got the idea that “method acting” should be reserved for the stage and tv sitcoms but your information is erroneous at best. Method acting (Sandy Meisner) like Sense Memory (Lee Strasberg) is a technique that serves an actor on all fronts: Stage, TV (drama, comedy) and Film! Marlon Brando, one of the FINEST actors to grace the screen, was one of the first actors to use the technique in film and was quite lauded for it and all actors began to follow suit which put an end to the over acting of the old Hollywood era. You cannot blame what you perceive as Nse Ikpe Etim’s rigidness, lack of connection to the character and the circumstances given to her in the script to her technique! You should blame it on the fact that she might have failed to do her home work as an actor, she might have failed to sit down and dissect her script and her character and with the limited time they are given, the limited knowledge of the “directors” who don’t know how to draw the right performance from an actor and the very limiting stories riddled with caricatures, I am surprised at how good some of Nollywood actors can be. Do you know in Nollywood sometimes the actors get the script only a few days before then can be handed a totally new script or an amended when they show up on set? Do you know that most times they don’t even get enough time to memorize the script or rehearsals? Everything is done on the fly which is why sometimes actors’ performances and the films themselves seem haphazard. It’s called ACTING not magic. She can do only so much with what she’s give and having been around that environment, I say she is doing great with what she’s handed…they all are with the exception of a few that should keep their day jobs hah hahahahahaha. Personally, I beg to differ with your analysis. When compared to some of her contemporaries in Nollywood, Nse Ikpe Etim is fun to watch and believable.

    • Domina July 27, 2011 at 9:01 AM

well said Naveah. I tink Nse is a really great actress. cant get tired of seeing her in movies.at leastnot just yet!

    • princess July 27, 2011 at 4:41 PM

i just love nse acting especially even she adds a hint of pidgin just lovely; her role in dat movie with micheal “asoebi of 200k”

    • Ennkayy July 27, 2011 at 5:48 PM

NSE IKPE ETIM!!! NSE IKPE ETIM!!!
Please if you happen to encounter and scroll down these pages, I am sure I speak for a multitude of THE NOLLYWOOD FAN BASE when I say ” WE NEED (REALLY REALLY NEED) TO SEE MORE OF YOU”.

There is something about this gal “NSE” that will give the likes of Genevieve (yes, I said Genevieve) a competitive run for their money. It has since been established that she definitely has the “IT” factor. This lady is extremely talented, the screen loves her, she is great to look at and her performances so far has been at worst, highly impressive. What I don’t quite understand is why she is not taking full leverage of this bestowed blessing towad catapulting her self to certain and expedient success in the industry.

Nse, I dont know too much about the bells and whistles involved in world of entertainment marketing and branding of ones self to promote ones creative art. but i belive you ought to start investing in a team to package you, promote you, sell you and brand you. Success is honestly knocking at your door and I can’t wait for Africa to produce a true organic and hard core talent like you.

I’m not kocking others down but comapredto the faces we see sprawled on a day-to-day as celebrities in the Nigerian scene, Nse to me trumps most; this girl can act, can speak so eloquently, can be a role model for young and upcoming ones, can write so fluidly, has other keen interests that are not movie(s) related, she is real, she studied her art, knows her art, speaks her art – and has been at it apparelty foe overa decade also she can be the face of so many products out there (have youseen her skin??), she also has the carriage to sell any clothing line out there (have you seen her poise…?) adn the complete look to grace the covers of almost any well meaning magazine sold in the stands…

      enuf said!

    • A.D July 28, 2011 at 1:33 PM

Def second the motion @Emkay, I LOOOOVVVVEEEE her acting, she can almost play any role (well, any cos she hasnt acted mad yet. lol)
The fact that she speaks very fluently is definitly a plus, she’s so natural and real in her acting, not over doing it like some very upcoming people (I didnt mention names oh), always enjoy watching her, Keep it up dearie
      Go N.I.E (Nse Ikpe Etim)

Seriously, do all Nollywood films have to revolve around relationships between married couples?! I mean, there’s a lot more to life than that. We need to see more children and young people on our screens after all the future does belong to them. That aside, the acting looks good and the quality has really improved :)
