Following the arrest and subsequent parade of two undergraduates, who confessed to have killed Cynthia Udoka Osokogu in a hotel located in Lake View Estate in Amuwo Odofin, Lagos, three more ladies have come forward, saying they were once victims of the alleged murderers.

24 year-old Cynthia Udoka Osokogu was murdered in Lagos by Okwuoma Echezona Nwabufo (Age 33) and Ezekiel Odera Olisa (Age 23), her Facebook friends. They lured her into Lagos under the pretence of helping her buy cheap goods for her boutique and killed her.

On Tuesday, BN wrote about the tragic story of Cynthia’s murder (Link) and on Thursday, wrote about the arrest and parade of her alleged murderers (Link).

Thisday reports that two of the victims gave their account at the Area E Command in FESTAC yesterday. They said that they had also been lured, drugged and raped by the two men but were lucky to escape with their lives.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide said that the parade helped the victims come out of their shells.

“Following the parade on Wednesday, two girls came to the Area E Command to complain that they had fallen victim to the suspects in the past.

“After identifying the duo, they made out their statements and based on this investigation continues until all aspects of this case has been explored.”

Similarly, a model showed up yesterday at the headquarters of Lagos State Police Command in Ikeja, claiming she was also a victim of the two undergraduates.

According to a report by Vanguard, the lady arrived the Police Command at noon, demanding to speak only with the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Umar Manko.

The lady who described herself as a model reportedly told the CP the two undergraduates, Nwabufo Okwumo, and his cousin, Odera Ezekiel, were the same persons that dispossessed her of her belongings in a hotel in Festac.

When contacted, the Command’s boss confirmed the visit, explaining that he directed her to the Commander so that she could physically identify the suspects. He called on other females, who had fallen victims to show up.

“Other victims are advised to show up so that if there is any need to expand our investigation, we will do so.”

Their disclosure corroborates Nwabufo’s confession that they had drugged and raped four other girls apart from Cynthia whom they allegedly murdered afterwards.

      • Gold digger August 24, 2012 at 7:54 PM

@ jikzuka, the world would be a better place without morons like you.

    • Koksy August 24, 2012 at 12:38 PM

They didn’t mean to murder her, abi? May you never know someone who has fallen victim of a hateful crime such as this. You might be more sensitive.

    • Jackie August 24, 2012 at 12:49 PM

Jikzuka, thats the most stupid comment i’ve ever read. the police should call you in for questioning, i’m sure you are no different from the killers. you sound like you do the same thing.

    • iju August 24, 2012 at 12:50 PM

They raped her, stole her things, drug her as if that was not enough for them, they went ahead and kill her cutting her off from living. What a terrible way to die. Well if the family can forgive them let them go ahead but i doubt. Umu igbo biko una na ewetere ndi igbo ihe ihere. “The heart of men are desperately wicked who can know it”

    • Alberta Sagoe August 24, 2012 at 12:55 PM

Dez criminals shud b killed immediately b4 dey cause more harm… Really pathetic

    • gimmer August 24, 2012 at 12:57 PM

ok..this is becoming a darn circus. all these “allegations” yet their identity is sacred? i have no respect for the nigerian law enforcement. every man for himself in that country, God for all of us.

      • Tracey August 24, 2012 at 2:07 PM

I couldn’t have said it any better! Only in Nigeria can the faces of evil people like this be protected, if the had such a heart to take a life! WHY NOT the police brandish their faces for all to see? Yet it’s the dead victim’s face that can be spilled all over the internet. FOOLS

    • darkhorse August 24, 2012 at 1:00 PM

Pls can there be a media broacast through social networking that we DEMAND to see these young men. We see faces of the worst of the worst criminals, let their faces be shown. Knowing Nigeria, money will exchange hands and we won’t know the real guys from the proxy ones The Nigerian Police will show us. Let us see them!

    • Bolsim August 24, 2012 at 1:04 PM

@jikzuka, am sure you are a relative of the paraded murderers. Very soon, nemesis will catch up with you as you don’t see evil in their action. Mschewwwww

    • Nonye August 24, 2012 at 1:06 PM

Cold blooded murder. Please where is Nigeria’s version of Crime and Investigation reality tv? These are serial rapists and killers. They should be charged to court and given life sentences without parole in a maximum prison. And to other ladies out there, pleeeeeeeeasse, stop befreinding ppl you odnt know or going out with ppl you dont know for the sake of having “fun”! There is no fun in drinking or munching or whatever with strangers. I remember what my mother used to say: Do not talk to strangers, do not take lifts o! and now I tell my younger ones, be careful!

    • faith August 24, 2012 at 1:14 PM

MtScHeeewww…why r they hiding their wicked faces..

    • Olivia August 24, 2012 at 1:42 PM

There is an Old saying from my place, that “not all blood can be spilled” indeed this has proven true. Cynthia’s blood, certainly isn’t of those that can be spilled without vengance. This girl saw her death before she gave up her ghost, and who knows, may have prayed to God for vengance on her murderers.
Thank God for being God! ……if only the right kind of punishment will be given to these murderers by the govt

      • Peace August 24, 2012 at 4:14 PM

While i Like the saying, the ones Babangida, Obasanjo has killed nko?
        This life.

    • Mee August 24, 2012 at 1:48 PM

Very sad..this is just one out of the many devilish killers out there. May God save us and our loved ones…this can happen to any young person out there. I realize I have some friends on Facebook that I really do not know but added them because they are friends to my known friends. I have taken the task of deleting all such people in Facebook, blackberry and twitter. Since its been proven that we are not safe, it is wise for everyone to be cautious.

    • Nomy August 24, 2012 at 2:04 PM

Jikzuka may God punish you thoroughly for that comment. Very soon, your female relatives who am sure are as stupid, wicked and heartless as yourself will start falling victim to cold hearted killers, i trust that you idiot that you are will be around to comment senselessly then!

      • put 0ff August 24, 2012 at 4:44 PM

Nomy, you sound as just as terrible as the Jikzuka dude. What have his female relatives got to do with this for you to wish anyone who has done nothing to you such ill? A simple “why don’t you put yourself in the shoes of the victim’s family…” will suffice.

    • adelegirl August 24, 2012 at 2:11 PM

These aren’t humans, they are BEASTS!!! No one who takes the life of another human being, in such a cruelly violent way, is human in my opinion. Why are their faces hidden from camera. Poor Cynthia’s pictures have been splashed all over the media yet the full identities of these beasts are being protected… It’s sad that Cynthia had to die for these beasts to finally meet their waterloo. Can only imagine how much force you have to use in beating someone to death, especially a lady who couldn’t defend herself and wasn’t hitting back, seeing as she was tied up. People, ladies especially please please beware of how you post personal information about yourself on social networking sites and how you make “friends” on these sites too! We tend to be so careless about protecting our identity in this part of the world. It’s so heartrendingly sad that Cynthia had to die for most Nigerians to become aware of the dangers of over exposure on social networking sites. The other day, my younger sister put up her mobile number as her bbm pm and I went ballistic! What is that about? What are you seeking by doing that??? I really hate to say this and it might be an overreaction but I now understand why David Mark said that the use of social media should be regulated! Every tom, dick and lucy with internet connection on their laptops, pcs and mobile phones misuse and abuse it at will. It has to be stop. If not regulated, people need to be educated on its pitfalls. The internet is such a wonderful tool for knowledge networking and other positive uses but it has a sinister side too as typified by the sad story of Cynthia and several others too…

      • Tracey August 24, 2012 at 4:20 PM

And you still asking strangers to follow you on Twitter? E be like say you no dey learn lesson say person die due to social media interaction with unknown ppl.

        People no dey hear so!

    • shehumusa August 24, 2012 at 2:54 PM

Go to Facebook using their names you will get their identity.

    • kunle August 24, 2012 at 2:56 PM

i am very suspicious of the intention of the police not to reveal the facial identity of these heartless criminals. we’ve known the nigerian police to proudly parade criminals(even when some of them are half naked on tv)in the past. Don’t be suprise if the next thing you hear is “they have been released on bail!”

    • hedrene enow August 24, 2012 at 3:18 PM

justice and severe sanctions should be melted on these canibals.

    • Nkelly August 24, 2012 at 3:49 PM

@ jikzuka, how insensitive can you be? Like seriously, did u say they should free the guys? that they didnt mean to kill her? She went there with her two legs you said? what manner of monster are you? what kind of a human being could say this, after all that has been said and done? Am sure its your stock in trade and i hope you or a relative of yours becomes the next victim ooooo….then we will ask you to free the guys

    • dyke August 24, 2012 at 4:05 PM

@jikzuka so disappointed in ur comment.

    • Peace August 24, 2012 at 4:17 PM

But if they let the other girls go after robbing and raping them why kill Cynthia? Why?!!! Why kill her after all she suffered in their hands

    • maandy August 24, 2012 at 4:18 PM

Jikzuka may amadioha soda that gutter u call a mouth!

I imagine the heartbreak her death has caused her family, among the many who troop in to symPathise, re also some who feel she deserved wat she got. They believe she must av been a wayward girl. Really embarrassing 4 her immediate family. May her soul rest in peace.

    • marvel August 25, 2012 at 6:22 AM

I would like the hotel manager, receptionist and staff to be invited for questioning by the Police. My attitude is, they quite possible knew, aided and/or abated the rapists/murderers. They must have been doing this for a while.

    • Romeo August 25, 2012 at 8:43 AM

The wicked shall not go unpunished as according to the bible. I pray the lord would give her family the strength to carry on. Now i believed this would be a lesson to all girls. And for the bad guys, pls stop spoiling the image of the other good guys and above all ‘stop spoiling the image of our humble country NIGERIA’.

God will surely give justice to the killers of Cynthia. Many young ladies and women sometimes unknowingly put themselves at risk when associating with men. Stories abound of young girls who are raped by men they know in one way or the other. Only the victims live with the awful memories forever. Our security system appers handicapped in handling cases of rape and abuse and this discourages victims to report and seek justice, so that others will not fall victims. Our society should show more sympathy and understaning to victims of rape and abuse and not condemn them. For many womem out there, BE CAREFUL. Cynthia paid the ultimate price so that we all learn a lesson.
May her gentle soul rest in peace.
