We all look forward to that special moment when the spotlight is on us and we have achieved a lofty feat. For Nollywood actress, Ini Edo, that moment arrived on Friday 15th October 2010 at the premiere of her new movie “Memories Of My Heart“.
Ini has enjoyed a successful Nollywood career, starring in various top grossing movies and winning several awards along the way. With her production debut, “Memories Of My Heart”, she has scaled a new hurdle and is definitely proud of her achievement.
The premiere of the movie was a star studded affair, with superstars and movie industry heavyweights including Richard Mofe Damijo, Fred Amata, Segun Arinze, Zik Zulu-Okafor, Desmond Elliot, Emem Isong, Uche Jombo, Tonto Dike, Monalisa Chinda, Patience Ozokwor, Mike Ezuruonye, Annie Macaulay, Chidi Mokeme, Susan Peters all gracing the event.
According to BN Contributor & Nollywood Uncut Editor, Bola Aduwo who was at the event, “The event took off with interviews and photographs on the Red Carpet, then cocktails and networking. Guests were then ushered into the screening room. The event started a little behind schedule with opening prayers and the National Anthem being performed by Stella Damasus. The artist Slam performed a special track where he sang a song incorporating Ini’s name.
The actress who was accompanied by her parents, siblings and husband, Philip Ehiagwina swayed and moved to the beat. Stella Damasus later came on and sang a beautiful love song; setting the scene for the movie screening. After the screening, the movie received thunderous applause. Ini then gave a speech thanking everyone and called up for curtain call and recognition, those behind the production including Emem Isong who co-produced and Desmond Elliot who directed. Guests then left with their goody bags! It was a lovely event in all!”
