‘Bowling for Boobs’. What kind of of name is that and who came up with it? Sounds so wrong.

you do know that boobs and breasts are the same right? So a charity event called bowling for boobs… i’m not quite sure what the confusion is. Or would you prefer “Bowling to raise money for breast cancer research”?

@Dupe, i agree. It comes off a bit wrong. This is a very important cause that i am passionate about. I also think there’s not enough awareness on the issue. However, such an event should be tagged in such a way that a lot of people will be encouraged to go and participate. I just did a random check with some of my colleagues and friends (male & female) asking if they were interested in going for an event tagged “bowling for boobs” and their immediate reaction was no. It was only after i explained what it was about that they said they may consider it but that the name wasnt properly thought through.

I get how some people might be put off by the name, but I got it instantly and I love it. It sounds like a fun way to raise money for such an important cause. Bowling for Boobs…catchy and for a great cause. Why not?
P.S. There’s a band called Bowling for Soup…great songs, but talk about misnomers.
