Lanre DaSilva-Ajayi – “Red 2011” for the UBA CEO Awards

Lanre DaSilva-Ajayi adopts a different approach to presenting collections. Rather than sticking strictly to the fashion season schedule, LDA actively collaborates with companies including real dutch wax manufacturer Vlisco and also presents special “inspired” collections throughout the year.
This weekend, LDA presented a special “Red 2011” collection at the 2011 UBA CEO Awards which took place in Lagos on the 12th of February 2011.

According to LDA’s PR reps, the “Red 2011” collection “has created a dazzling bridge between her signature 1950s and this century. We see a mix and match of turquoise lace with red silk and yellow silk with embroidery cut to make form fitting dresses and skirts. A piece from this collection is a girl’s must have!

    Fantastic! I prefer her lacey designs to the Vlisco stuff. Love the pic with the models… Kinda reminds me of Alice in Wonderland.

      @foolish talk
      Its not a photoshoot, just backstage shots from a fashion show at the UBA CEO Awards as the writeup states.

      Many designers have an overarching signature that runs thru all their collections e.g Marchesa and Vivienne Westwood.

    hate the hair pieces,being untidy and unkept has nothing to do with victorian abeg,as for the dresses,she is doing the same dresses in different fabrics.inshort Tim Burtons wife,the one that wore two shoes for SAG awards would love the hair pieces.

    I think someone at LDA needs a history lesson. These clothes look nothing like what was worn in the 50s.Also I thought she used to say her signature style was Victorian which would be during the reign of queen Victoria, late 19th century -early 20th. Please if we want to copy western culture, we should get the basics correct.
