BN Movies & TV can confirm that MTV Base and the MTV Staying Alive Foundation are once again collaborating to bring the hit series – Shuga to the radio.
Tagged “ShugaRadioNaija“, it will feature new characters, and plot lines just like the TV show.
Set in a fictional rural location of “Chikota”, Nigeria, the show will use Shuga’s edutainment philosophy to tell the interlinked stories of a group of young students, their friends and families, as they try to figure out life, love, sex, and emotions against a background of conflicting advice and prejudice.
There will be 8 12-minute episodes that will address a wide range of thought provoking topics including HIV counselling and testing, discussing condom use in relationships, gender inequality, abuse, transactional sex, and the role of multiple concurrent partnerships in driving the HIV epidemic.
