It was Sharon Halder, the famous author that said “Heroes are not born, they are made.” This is no less true in Nigeria. Every day, there are thousands of young Nigerian men and women who give their lives to keep the Nigerian people safe. By their uniforms, you will know them. The truth is that our soldiers die to keep us safe from terrorists who will steal our lives and freedom and this, we believe, is the true definition of heroes.

What will you think if you are told that there is a way you can give back to these heroes? And that even you can save their lives? What if you were told that it will only take about an hour of your time? And that doing this can even save your own life?

Usually heroes save the general public but in this case, you have a chance to save them.

Every year, many members of the armed forces die because they could not get the blood they needed when they needed it. The truth is that blood donation is one of the most significant contribution you can make towards the society. It is not harmful for a full grown man to donate blood neither it is for a woman. The body of the donor will regenerate the blood shortly and it poses no threat to the metabolism of the body.

On the 1st of October 2016, you have a chance to give a small part of yourself to save a soldier or 3.

LifeBank, the Military Hospital, Yaba, and a few other partners are holding a major blood drive that will go to our friends in uniform.

The Nigerian Troops can be well equipped also with pints of blood when preparing for war. These soldiers protect our great nation from terrorism and they deserve whatever help they can get from us because really, blood donation is our human duty.

Leo Rosten once said that “The purpose of life is not to be happy – but to matter, to be productive, to be useful, to have it make some difference that you have lived at all.”

Your donation will return a soldier home safely to his/her families and more importantly your donation will ensure the availability of reliable blood supply.

Will you stand and be counted at the Save a Soldier Blood Drive?
