Kim Kardashian has responded to insinuations that she refused to tag Nigerian Youtuber Jackie Aina in the photos she posted on her Instagram account because she gave a critical review of her recently launched KKW BEAUTY product.
The kits which obviously did great in the market considering it is a Kardashian product were reviewed by the beauty influencers in attendance, including Jackie.
Check out Jackie’s KKW Beauty review here.
Following the backlash that trailed what happened, Kim untagged everyone in the photos she shared.
Jackie had also responded to the move by Kim. She took to Instagram live to address the issue;
I just gave some really constructive feedback about the product. I didn’t glorify the product in my review, but I also didn’t bash it. Kim puts up a picture on Instagram of everyone who came to the launch, literally everybody who came to the launch and tagged everyone but me. Is it shadier to not put up a picture at all, or to put the picture up and to not tag the one person? She knew what she was doing. Did I think it was shady? Absolutely. Was it worth attacking her? Not necessarily.
Kim, in a series of tweets, explained what had happened:
I just saw a story saying I intentionally didn’t tag
@jackieaina in a pic I posted on Instagram because of a review she did about my line.I would never post someone’s pic on my page and then intentionally not tag them.
When I uploaded the album I was tagging everyone that came to the party and for some reason it wouldn’t let me tag Jackie’s name.
I figured I would just try again later, but then I realized you can’t add tags after the album is posted!
I hung out with
@jackieaina in my home and she was super sweet!!I love that she has an opinion and I’ll take what she said and use it to better my products.
Honestly, I’m so thankful to everyone who is giving me feedback on my beauty products & I love hearing what everyone loves, and doesn’t love.
So
@Instagram, can you change it so that you can tag people in galleries after they are posted, so I can avoid this issue in the future?

Height of pettiness.
The fact that this jackie took this matter to the public domain.
Lame
Bellanaija you don’t have to add Nigerian YouTuber Nigerians like to claim when someone is doing ok. Just put her name Jackie Aina.
???????? You can’t blame us. We don’t have enough world famous Nigerians repping us well
she has to put Nigerian to it.
We get enough negative press as is. Its up to us to change the narrative be it MUA, vlogger or a rapper in Harvard.
It’s like you don’t read other posts. If she’s American they’d write “American blogger” if she’s German “German blogger” it’s a form of adjective to let us know who Jackie Aina is. You guys are just too narrow minded, how’s this an issue?
And that’s how you shut it down and keep moving. ????
I saw the review and it was on point in my opinion. Very unbiased something. You can’t grow if you don’t get honest feedback.
Wow. Pretty major that Kim Kardashian has notices jakie like this. You go girl, Jackie. I know that has to feel good.
Kim honey you don’t need to respond to everything. Fine I get that Jackie is a front runner when it comes to influencing beauty products esp in the coloured department, but she was too petty about this. Calling Kim out for not tagging her and calling it “shade”. Bet you feel real silly now heh Jackie now that she’s explained herself.
You just wanted everyone to know right?
i bet jackie feels some gratification. I am still of the opinion that Jackie was being petty for instigating the drama, and fully aware that it was probably an oversight. Video count for that particular review is over a million, compared to other videos listed on her youtube account.
Eyah Jackie we know u now. Ngwa keep it moving. Kim Wedone Ma.
Na wa for BN Commenters o.
In the previous article, you all were calling Kim names because na Kim Kardashian.
Now, you have seen the light, abi?
Never judge until you hear two sides of the story.
I have always known that despite what the world thinks of the Kardashians especially Kim, when it comes to courtesy and treating people with respect, she does just that. Jackie being a typical petty betsy, black people always looking for the chance to pull the race card, I bet they will still not accept the explanation,
i hope Jackie learns from this. this is not the first time shes overreacted, from gofundme fiasco to tarte to jeffree. Brands are watching and she’s been trying hard to colloborate with a high-end brand for ages.
“I have always known that despite what the world thinks of the Kardashians especially Kim, when it comes to courtesy and treating people with respect, she does just that.”
Really? I almost forgot you’re her personal assistant. For heaven’s sake, how can you even tell? Do you personally know Kim or the Kardashians? You people won’t know someone and will automatically narrate and analyze their attributes and personalities based on the bs you read online and the few shows you watch on TV. Jeez. Smh.
Shame on those pple disturbing Kim’s peace the tagging issue. Haba, the babe just dusted you guys. Tag or no tag. Pple will keep making money. Jackie dear reason sense o and start that private chat with Kim.
That is actually a great suggestion
Some of you are incredibly senseless, it’s mind blowing. So because you read from Kim, Jackie is automatically petty? Weren’t you guys the same people bashing Kim yesterday? So Instagram let her tag everyone, but when it got to Jackie, she couldn’t tag again? How convenient. ? Funny thing is, it was Kim’s fans who called Kim out on Instagram first. Smh, people are so gullible, it’s unreal. You guys change your minds like underwears.
it’s possible. i think there’s a maximum amount of tags on instagram per picture
I can’t believe that you guys believe Kim. Kim is a professional courteous backstabber, it’s all an act. She maybe felt bad about it but, make no mistake, not tagging Jackie was very intentional and so are her tweets; simply to show up Jackie as petty and insecure. Kim is such a media manipulator, knows just the right things to do.
Dull! If you work/understand the industry you will know this is straight bull and all PR. KKW’s message is not heartfelt and nothing but a scripted blurb issued by her team to avert further crisis to her brand & fans/audience. The part where she said “for some reason, IG would not allow her to tag JA and she planned on doing it later” is where she messed up and gave it all away. Are you kidding me?!?! It is so obvious in many ways they did not like the unpleasant review and didn’t want future buyers to see that and skew their desire to want/buy the product. Of course from a business perspective, it can make sense because you don’t want your customers to see one bad review so you only post the positive ones to influence them into buying. Sadly that may have worked years ago but not TODAY… we live in an INTERNET age where authenticity matters and you can’t deceive your customers ANYMORE period! I work in PR and we write msgs like this frequently to appear empathetic so the brand doesn’t suffer too much damage when we smell a crisis coming. Save us all with the BS Kimmy!!! The truth will only help you in the future.
Jackie did the right thing… do an authentic review regardless of how big the name/brand is. In the long run, it increases her credibility. But I also agree that she could have just let it go to not appear too petty but I think EGO (aka the human side) of being slighted got to her which was why she couldn’t hold back. Anyone would be hurt if they work/go to a major event and your pictures or name etc are not mentioned as part of the team (put it in perspective of any work context and you will understand).
