On the eve of FEW Models‘ continent-wide model search competition, the leading Nigerian model agency got featured on American Forbes.

The founder Bolajo Fawehinmi in the feature speaks to Forbes’ Declan Eytan on FEW Models’ forthcoming model search competition in collaboration with IMG Worldwide, home to the likes of super models Gigi Hadid and Gisele Bündchen.

Bolaji said;

The first time I got in touch with IMG was last year. They approached me after stumbling upon a picture I posted on Instagram, of one of our girls.

Following a partnership with IMG, I now scout for girls not just in Nigeria, but also in other parts of West Africa. I’ve gone to Ghana as well as Côte D’Ivoire, scouting for girls. This competition is open to girls from all over Africa, so hopefully we’ll also see girls from Senegal or other parts of the continent. Girls scouted abroad, which may not be able to finance a trip to Nigeria for the casting, shall be sponsored in case of serious interest.

She added;

My main reason for opening Few, was that I wanted to celebrate the type of beauty which is not typically celebrated here in Nigeria. This morning for example, while driving to work I saw this girl walking who’s very beautiful. I parked my car and ran up to the public transport to catch her. Her mom was shocked, since most people here wouldn’t necessarily think of her daughter as beautiful – they need to start thinking outside the box
