Ambode debunks report about working against Sanwo-Olu’s Election

Ambode denies working for Atiku - BellaNaija

Akinwunmi Ambode, has denied a newspaper report alleging that he is working with the agents of Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the just concluded presidential election.

Atiku lost the election, but according to The Nation, his team is working to take over Lagos by winning the governorship election come March 9th.

The report also alleged that Ambode is working with Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi, and former cabinet member Wale Oluwo who are said to be working for the PDP candidate in the Lagos guber poll, Jimi Agbaje.

Ambode debunked this, saying he is working for the election of the Lagos State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Babajide Sanwoolu.

According to The Nation, in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Habib Aruna, he noted that the allegation published by The Nation newspaper attempted to hold Ambode responsible for the alleged activities of Afikuyomi, who supported him during the All Progressive Congress primaries in October 2018. He said:

The governor wishes to make it abundantly clear that, having declared publicly his acceptance of the decision of the party on the primaries, he has not and will never take any action to undermine the prospects of the party in the on-going elections.

It is human to aspire, and the capacity of each individual to manage the negative outcomes of a legitimate aspiration differs. But that should never be the basis to link His Excellency to whatever action of certain individuals who might have shared his vision in the past but have proceeded to pursue their own interests as adults and citizens without any influence from or recourse to the governor

In this circumstance, His Excellency hereby makes use of his right to a rejoinder and demands an apology for the unjustifiable aspersions cast on his person by wrongly presenting him to right thinking members of the public as a disloyal saboteur trying to frustrate his party’s campaign and electoral victory.

The Governor reaffirmed his loyalty to the party that gave him the opportunity to serve, and promised to work tirelessly to ensure the success of the party at all levels.

I do not know or has ever met the incumbent Governor of Lagos State. At first I hated him due to the fact that the Oba of Lagos claimed that He was his candidate. The Oba said this out in public. But he progressively continued to impressed me with his performance. I openly disagreed with him on certain projects while i whole hartedly supported him on other projects. As a Lagosian, I have seen governors come and go. But there is a difference with him when it comes to performance. Lagos State will never forget him for all his laudable archievements in office particularly when it comes to the area of infrastructure. For Thief Bola Hamed Tinubu to have the order-city to kill his reelection bid using a flimsy excuse of Ambode did not follow the Master plan laid down by APC in Lagos State. Hence his need to openly support an obscure candidate in JIde Sanwo-Olu. That was not Democracy. It’s BolaTinubucrazy. No body practice democracy the way Thief Bola Hamed Tinubu is practicing democracy. something must be done about that. That’s why everyone is rebelling against them and their political ideology. Thief Bola Hamed Tinubu and the short man devil OLOSHI- OMORE must stop to allow other people within the party to introduce new idea into the party if APC is to survive. Now you know. A word is enough for the wise. I’m just saying.
