Le Petit Marché turns 2 in February 2011 & Celebrates by Giving to Charity | Find Out What Went Down at LPM’s BuyNigerian Edition

Le Petit Marché is turning 2 years old on Sunday 27th of February 2011, and the LPM team are proud and grateful for the immense support from everyone!

To celebrate their 2nd anniversary, LPM is giving you the opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of hundreds of Nigerians alongside Freedom Foundation; an NGO, which was set up in 2001 to carry out the mandate of pioneering social reform within communities. It was established as a non-profit organization committed to positively affecting society by empowering individuals who are affected by various categories of social and economic disadvantage (drug addicts & sex workers, for example). The individuals rescued by Freedom Foundation are vulnerable. Some were sold by their own parents as barter for debts, and from ages as young as 13, they have been drugged up to work the streets of Lagos, serving as objects to enrich other men – men who bully and threaten their lives, everyday.

With many reasons to give thanks, LPM has decided to partner with this great organization to raise funds for the ladies who reside in Genesis House, where they are fully rehabilitated and nurtured to become better/stronger women with strong values in their community. With this in mind, the LPM team is wondering what MORE can we GIVE? They heard about this, and came up with an equation that ends up as the BIGGEST Fashion Market Party Lagos is yet to see:

MORE Space + MORE Vendors = MORE Merrier People.

Seeing as it is a Celebration, LPM will have a food court, selling a variety of food, drink and confectionery, a lounge area where documentaries of the great work being done by the Freedom Foundation will be displayed, and even a DJ!

Here is a message from the LPM Team:

We trust and thank you in advance for being a part of this positive and impactful initiative as we all get to make a difference in the lives of hundreds of women, who are simply victims of society. We hope you join Le Petit Marché (LPM) to GIVE a large percentage of the proceeds raised from the rental of stalls and donate to the good work of the freedom foundation! So please, help make a difference!

LPM will be taking stall reservations at [email protected] for a large variety of vendors, including:

  • Fashion Designers
  • Fabric
  • Men and Women’s High Street Fashion
  • Shoes and Bags
  • Accessories
  • Food and drink
  • Home Essentials and more

My absolute fav is Akpos’ collection and i love, love ,love jennifer olize’s ensemble, that is just my style, frm the hair to the dress to the accessories and it suits the occassion, looks elegant, chic but most of all, comfortable.pls people, who’s she? LOL!! are u serious? i am in now way related or do i even know this lady, what i meant was that this is the sort of dress i’d wear were i to attend such an event, this is exactly my kind of style, people that know me can attest to that but its all good though.

    February 8, 2011 at 1:04 am

it looks super crowded but LOOKED LIKE LOTS OF FUN!
when will Chantelle Unachukwu leave the bathroom slippers at home? lol
Jennifer Olize was my favorite as well, something i could see myself wearing.
House of Nwocha was very interesting…
and YES i see MUD (with Genevieve’s face) representing. lol
I swear Nkechi Eze and Bella Naija are related! lol
and as for Ivie Ogiemwonyi…no comment.

Re: bathroom slippers. That’s what we know it as in Nigeria. In the America’s, they are called flip flops and it’s totally okay to be worn in hot weather such as in Lagos. *rme*
      Oh, Nkechi is BN’s sis.

House of Nwocha is TERRIBLE. Wow. She should maybe focus on costume design…

Too many gorgeous queens here. I love!

      February 9, 2011 at 1:25 am

LOL! being that I’m Nigerian-American, i am perfecetly aware. i knew that someone would reply to that “Bathroom slippers” comment.
being that she is IN NAIJA (NOT THE US) she is wearing bathroom slippers. and to an event like this? that is a no-no.
so you dont have to talk to me like im 5 years old.

Post my cvomment Bella, I am not being mean I am just saying what I see. I see your sister Nkechi, you guys have the same leg shape.

That girl with the tie top and hot pants I like her face but should not be seen with that outfit again as its not meant for her body.

Loads of hippy on the high way(plenty hips on display)

loads of beautiful people sha howvever some designers are better off as tailor shop owners as the term designer should not be associated with the them. Nothing unique in their styles, designs or fabric

      February 8, 2011 at 12:22 pm

Awww Esther, u’ve been rolling with nigerian ppl. not with the biko and i beg u put in ur comments. Some of the items are reasonably priced while others are stupidly priced 🙂 It depends on which designer and which item you want.

extremely bad presentation of products. The Key is “PRESENTATION” – everything is all over the place – extremely messy -no coordination. ON commenting on the attendees – i plead the 5th.

    February 9, 2011 at 11:09 am

The arrangement needs to be less clustered, (a bigger venue maybe) but keep it up! Like most have said Jennifer is on point!

Side topic- I thought Nkechi was natural what happened with that? I myself was thinking of going natural but is there no point or is too much work since it looks like she’s relaxed now? The article Nkechi wrote before was good, but now I am confused. Nkechi girl clue me in! If you have a blog or something like that let me know. Your hair is healthy though so keep it up. Outfit is cute too!

    Khaji 🙂

House of Nwocha really needs to hire a design team. I wish her all the best but she needs new ideas- her last two collections look like something from a Helen Ukpabio film.

      February 10, 2011 at 12:33 am

hahahahaha @ Helen Ukpabio. just hearing (reading) the name gives me chills. lol
