Ghanaian movie star Lydia Forson has been announced as the brand ambassador for the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA).

The announcement was made at a press briefing for AMAA at 10, yesterday Thursday 19th December 2013 at the African Sun, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.

The CEO of AMAA Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, a number of AMAA stakeholders and media representatives as well as Lydia Forson, were present at the event.

This will be the first time an actor or an actress will be chosen to represent the prestigious brand since its inception in 1994.

The AMAA Best Actress winner was chosen because “her brand represents what the Africa Movie Academy Awards is all about; quality and projecting Africa to the World”.

Lydia will represent AMAA on major platforms including international movie festivals.

      If you are a true Ghanaian who lives in Ghana you will know
      that almost every programme organised in Ghana has Nigerian
      artistes on the bill and getting better treatment than
      Ghanaians.
