I’m sick of this emperor’s new clothes bullcrap. How is this not nepotism? An eight-date tour sponsored by otherwise reputable organisations: Dangote Foundation., NdaniTV, GTB, MTV Base, Pulse, Hennessy, Exquisite Magazine and BellaNaija!!!!!!!! Why? Why?

It’s one thing to go on an eight-city jaunt sponsored by your rich dad; Amadioha knows that I won’t judge you for spending your own money as you see fit. But it is a whole other matter when you crowd out the market, denying genuinely talented artistes the chance of sponsorship because these sponsors are busy sponsoring a spoilt little rich girl on her holidays.

I know I will be met with the usual “hater” retorts, but I don’t care. Established and better accomplished musicians are struggling to find adequate support and sponsorship and here we are, with someone who is meant to be studying for her masters’ degree in the states with a very dubious claim to DJ-ing always in our face. I’m tired.

      August 4, 2015 at 11:23 pm

Should all the useless corporates even be sponsoring entertainment at all? The fans should pay for those shows. There are many issues that a socially responsible company can sponsor-Education, health, entrepreneurship, infrastructures….not music, moreso music that is valueless to society as we have today. GTB could never have been part of this rubbish some years back, they used to sponsor only worthwhile ventures. Argue on your timeline.

She’s 21… Not sitting her ass at home being spoilt unlike most of the people I know… Trying her hands at something she loves and is actually getting better at it as the day goes by and loving it…
Sorry but how is it that her dad is rich disturbing u? N did the struggling artist tell u to be their mouth piece? If she was busy shopping around the world…U’d have a problem with it too..
      Kmt!
      People ennnn!!!
I wonder how many of our established artists did their Masters… Abi she isn’t allowed to have talent and follow it just like those that sing…

Breathe in and out slowly. Are you okay now? And yes YOU ARE A HATER!!!
I sha get what you mean but people like you also make me sick even more than DG Cuppy and her big time sponsors. Its people like you that truly and really scare me. I have nothing to say sha on your tirade other than saying if you are really good, it may take you a while but with hard work and dedication you will get there.

In the meantime, allow Cuppy and co do their thing. This life is not for anyone in particular. My God bless your hustle and lastly, its unfair to say she is a ‘spoilt little rich girl’ unless you truly know her.

      August 5, 2015 at 4:53 am

In addition, are you pained that you are not at an American university doing your masters yet having all the time in the world to jet around and do stuff. I know its so hard and sometimes you feel like its unfair but its no one’s fault your dad is not as wealthy as hers. Yep not her fault. Perhaps if you worked really hard yourself, your child will not moan like you in the future.

      Good luck

@dear Bellanaija, you guys should know now that its Iara Fortez and not Lara. She is not a Nigerian and its been said over and over again that its Iara as in iara. The Nigerian press (blogs in particular) cannot continue to make such mistake nah. Wetin?

    • Pacey

      August 5, 2015 at 11:27 am

Ibe sweetie. It is this easily-pleased, unquestioning mentality that has gotten Nigeria to where it is today. You wilfully ignore the bit of my post where I say I won’t judge her for spending her money as she sees fit, but that I don’t expect otherwise reputable organisations to be this nepotistic.

Your knee-jerk, tone-deaf and frankly baseless argument is one I know I shouldn’t entertain but you really need to improve your comprehension skills. This is what inequality and cronyism of the kind I was complaining about has caused: People who do not know how to reason, or see what is wrong with injustice.

      August 4, 2015 at 1:28 pm

Exactly!!! When I become a billionaire (by God’s grace) I think I’d be very upset if any of my kids decides to be a fashion blogger or a professional photographer or an artiste or a dj! Like seriously??? People like Dangote and even this Otedola guy sef knows deep down that there’s no way being all these things can generate even a fourth of their fortune. There’s a reason why the Waltons are all billionaires. I think the aim of building an empire is to ensure that even the 20th generation gets to benefit from my hard work; and that’s by them working hard too and building on the legacy I left. Oh well, maybe after a while all these billionaire babies will leave entertainment and the love of fame and finally take over daddy’s biz.

    • Call Me Gorgeous..

      #noshade #liveyrdreams

    • eyong

      August 4, 2015 at 6:23 pm

They became billionaires by following their aspirations, if they wanted simply wanted to make money they would have gone to school to become doctors and lawyers, etc. All careers that won’t give a fraction of what their net worths are now.

Incase you didn’t know, it’s the ones who take the road less travelled that become iconic and legendary, not does who fit the status quo!

    • Krasavitsa

      August 4, 2015 at 7:07 pm

@ Eyong, google billionaire doctors and lawyers. Yep there’s a whole list of them. Now google billionaire fashion bloggers or djs. What? No list? Hmm….see the thing is even the highest paid Dj in the world isn’t even worth $50m (may God bless his hustle). And if these billionaire dads chose to follow “the least traveled path”; which in this case I’m guessing is Dj-ing, I really don’t think their kids will study very brilliant courses and then choose to jump into entertainment; because such kids will have to start from the very beginning of hustling in the entertainment industry; not just getting daddy to throw a few millions around and invite his fellow billionaire friends. And please please no one should come and give me “you’re just a hater” as a response. I’m not hating. She’s a lucky girl (May God bless her hustle too). My point is just that there’s a reason certain family names go down in history and are later known as “old money”. Their forebears worked hard and then, they worked even harder.

    • [email protected]

      August 6, 2015 at 2:56 pm

But of course you should know better ! This DJ-ing is just play, when the time comes she ll occupy the topmost level of Forte Oil building.

What is her aim for this please? Because i cant understand this, she is a DJ ,ok,her Dad is Femi Odetola of Forte Oil ok, then what? These trips she wanna embark on is for what,i dont understand o…or is there more to these tours?

  23. Amiira

    August 4, 2015 at 3:05 pm

BN, you compare Lara Fotes Oshiomole to Angelina Jolie? Did I read right at all? Which kain famzing be that? What has she done for world peace? Married Adams the Edo governor to deliver him from the Edo girls’ pussies he bashed before ending-up with her virgin self. What has she done humanitarianly? Adopted Adams Oshiomole’s children from different continents to give them motherly love and nurture? What has she done to make money or write her name in gold? Married Adams Oshiomole and made blockbuster movies from them, gross millions etc? What are you talking about sef BN? Please be careful o. Dis one no be biff o, nah to correct nonsense impressions.
Anyways, congratulations to the DJ, looks good always and likes to spend the dough on parties. Wonder how much she makes per appearance.

Emma Nyra and Ubi Franklin at the same place, *sips tea*.

That awkward picture with that Adams Oshiomole and his wife. The man has turned celeb oh.

Dj Cuppy looking at this concert, abi party i’m confused at what you’re trying to accomplish, are you establishing yourself as a DJ? Just Throwing free parties from the goodness of your heart? Branding yourself to a certain crowd? or trying to appeal to the “masses.” Cause the crowd at this event range from politicians to old rich people to celebs to wannabe, very confusing. You just need to talk to you P.R to be clear on what the purpose of these events you are throwing.

    • Na We We

      August 12, 2015 at 6:42 am

It’s obvious you don’t have a clue on what she’s up to. How difficult is it to understand entertainment/showbiz requires buzz? Perhaps you need the PR team. As long as Bella is around and Cuppy remains a child of Otedola, she’ll be fine and we’ll keep on hearing about her. Emma Nyra & Ubi are old news.

Denola be looking and posing like a sort of mannequin, I just can’t relate with his look.
Then can someone please tell Gbemi to stop wearing cropped up tops like someone got her a whole bag full of it. geez, she doesn’t even have the body for it.
How I love me some Nicole. Iyawao Naeto C in that God given body after two kids and she doesn’t even put it in our faces on social media like some awon “post baby body” picture peeps.

Lastly, these people just find any means to throw parties. Thanks to her father’s money, DJ Cuppy is trying really hard to remain in the news. Oh and please don’t even bother calling me hater..

Stephanie Coker’s hair is just there. One side style in all her pix for d past weeks. Girl, re style your hair to give u dat tush. Gbemi, u can never be palatable to the eyes. Why? Na u wor wor pass? Upon all ur money n celebrity status, u can’t step up ur game. Foli Storms, u packaged well. As for DJ Cuppy, ur numerous concert is over hyped. Slow down girl. Daddy is not happy. Money is being send down d drain. Daddy is not proud of your profession and u r rubbing it in by making him invite his business friends to this trival stuff (as his friends would categorize ur ‘profession’)

Oshiomole, beg your wife to look you in the face in one of these pictures or stay lovingly close to you. Looks like she can barely stand you. Na BO abi she dey fear the outcome of the pictures? Camera these days no dey lie. Na beg you dey beg to mount? I am about to conclude that one sha based on DC pictures and now this one.
eh hen, so finally, Lara has found her age mates to hang out with after a long exhaustive travel with people her grandpas age. Yes oh, thank God for DJ Cuppy. Now Lara can regain her youth and remember what it is again that young people do with their lives. Oshio, please stay a bit far away in the picture. Why are you always trying to corner the girl in public? The pictures no dey gel lai lai. Since peeps already know say na you own this one, no need for public show of giniwanu. A beg understand. Digital footprint is here to stay forever.
DJ Cuppy, I have asked this before. What will you do when you are 40? DJ at billionnaire private parties? Probably. Where will you keep your kids when you are DJing? Just asking honey.

@ Krasavista your analysis are always on point. I love to read your comments. People should stop this hater thing… There is something called constructive criticism which is useful in certian cases…. you appreciate the good, identify the bad and point the ugly…

The truth be told,if that is all we can gain from dj cuppy it’s great.she is beautifully, elegant and sexy without any dirty show. I’m not very traditional and dnt hate on people who show off cleaves and all but I guess the rich always win. cuppy u are classy as expected
