According to exclusive reports from Encomium magazine, Nollywood actor Kalu Ikeagwu was apprehended yesterday by unidentified gunman as he attempted to park his car at his Ogba residence in Lagos.

The soft-sell magazine had earlier reported it as a kidnap but after further investigation, it was revealed that the actor was taken in by the police for questioning and later released.

Kalu Ikeagwu was taken in for questioning for a case that had to do with his personal assistant. According to reports, his personal assistant had unknowingly bought a stolen phone from Computer Village in Ikeja. The people who stole the phone had reportedly killed one of the victims of the robbery and the case was under investigation.

The robbery occurred in Abuja and the phone was traced to Lagos by the security agents who later came for Kalu Ikeagwu since his address and name were used during the purchase.

According to Encomium:

One of the neighbours told Encomium.ng that his arrest was in the afternoon after he dropped his step daughter at home from school. He had parked his car at the gate, dropped the girl with her mother as if he was on his way out again. He was said to have received a call from one of the operatives who had been waiting for him. And as soon as he stepped out of the gate, he was asked if indeed he was Kalu Ikeagwu, and he confirmed his identity. He was politely invited, but was about arguing with them when they brought out their guns. Neighbours who had tried to step in, stood back as soon as they saw the guns. He was ferried away in a bus. By the time they left, his wife was crying. When he returned this evening, he went round neighbours to thank them and also explain what actually happened.

The actor is currently back in his home with his family.
