Former YBNL artiste Olanrewaju Pelepele committed suicide on Friday the 20th of September at Ikorodu. He took his life a week after talking about his battle with depression due to his inability to fully break into the Nigerian music industry despite 10 years of hard work.

Ikechukwu shared a video as he wished the late artiste perfect peace as he talked about depression and how people should give a listening ear to whoever it may be. He wrote

We need to be human again. Feel. Talk. We spend too much time putting others down or focusing on generating negative energy. It’s very necessary that we look out for one another. It’s not busybody, it’s not putting ur nose inside another person’s business. It’s caring. It’s sharing. It’s love. The honest truth is love can solve almost all our issues if not all. If the people in powerful positions loved their people they wouldn’t steal from them. They wouldn’t allow them to suffer while they enjoy life. Another thing is this whole culture of rubbing our successes in the faces of those who aren’t so fortunate. It’s terrible and part of the problem. Once someone wins the first thing they say is I wanna give thanks to God. If u really love God and his word u would do ur best to lift up others. In any and every way possible. I’m not saying I’m a saint but I’m aware of what needs to be done and where we can start. My people all we need is us. All we need is love. Starting now can stop a lot of tragedy that is yet to come. 1❤??
