It’s just so amazing how you can form an instant connection with a total stranger and it’s as though you’ve known each other all your lives.  Martha and Richard’s love journey began at a networking event and it was all sparks and butterflies.

Even though they lost touch along the line, love did not give up on these two. A few years later, they reconnected and it was as though no time had passed. Adventures, laughter and a romantic proposal by Richard sealed the deal! They are now on a forever journey and we are super pumped. Their pre-wedding photos are simply delightful and you’ll certainly love them as much as we do!

Enjoy their pre-wedding photos and love story below:

How we met
By the groom, Richard:

Our love story is one for the ages. From the moment we met at a professional networking event, there was an instant spark between us. I couldn’t take my eyes off her and knew I had to talk to her, unaware that she had already recognized me from the event flyer. We spent the entire night chatting, laughing, and getting to know each other.

It wasn’t until a few months later that I asked Martha out on our most memorable date. I picked her up in my car, and we drove around the Bridle Path neighbourhood, admiring the multi-million-dollar homes where the rich and famous live. We went out for dinner at a cosy restaurant and then ended up at one of Toronto’s hottest spots, where we danced the night away until the early morning. Martha says from that moment on, she knew that I was special. PS: She is still waiting for the mansion dreams that I promised her. 😄

We dated briefly, but the timing wasn’t quite right, and we went our separate ways. However, fate had other plans for us. In 2020, during the pandemic, we reconnected. We spent more time talking on the phone and video chatting, getting to know each other on a deeper level. As we grew closer, we became each other’s best friends and confidants.

Finally, in January 2021, I told Martha that I loved her, and she was over the moon. Later that same year, in September, we took a trip together to Tulum, Mexico. It was our first time traveling as a couple, and we had a blast exploring the beaches, trying new foods, and simply enjoying each other’s company. Secretly, Martha was expecting a proposal, but I had other plans.

In December 2022, we took a trip to Virginia to visit some friends for Christmas. I had been planning a surprise proposal for Martha for weeks. After a lovely dinner (where she was expecting another proposal), we returned to our hotel room, and I got down on one knee to ask her to spend the rest of her life with me. She said yes!
